Character Concept Personality: In general, Tyuru is a child who is trying too fast to be an adult. She tries to act older than she is and sometimes succeeds. Other times she just ends up embarrassing herself. She does this because of her history – she hates feeling pitied or defenseless, so she tried to make herself more formidable by acting older than she is.
Tyuru immensely enjoys learning new skills or interesting bits of knowledge and stores these forever in her mind for later use.
She hates it when people are sad or down and will try her best to cheer them up… even if her cheering up isn’t always wanted. She has a dry sense of humor and cracks bad jokes incessantly. Sometimes her jokes hit home on a sensitive subject but Tyuru never notices and this can lead to her really injuring someone without her realizing it.
She dislikes purposely making anyone sad. She’s a little more vain than the norm and takes offense easily when insulted, although she's learnt from the past not to let her vanity run away with her and tries to stay modest as much as possible (even though it's difficult). She’s still young but old enough to marry and is looking for a rich husband to fill a gap.
She's a little clumsy at the best of times and tries valiantly to hide this embarrassing trait.
Ethics: Tyuru sees her life’s purpose as making herself as comfortable as possible and helping as many other people along the way. She also despises men who take advantage of women and has unconsciously decided to take revenge on those that do. She hates feeling weak or defenseless and is trying to become more self dependant and in general a stronger person.
She also strongly believes that you should never harm animals. Despite her people's teachings, she believes animals are people's souls reincarnated and that harming them is like harming a human at their most defenseless time.
Likes – Dancing, witty people, men who are a challenge, riding, talking, eating, sleeping, sewing, pursuing beauty, admiring herself in the mirror, parties, glamour, color Dislikes – Mean people, people who mistreat animals, stale food, scratchy clothes, overly soft beds, people who bring others down with their meanness or sadness. She also has a fear of enclosed spaces, after having grown up in such a wide open place. |
Character History Pre-Creation: Tyuru grew up in the Ruby Clan, learning weaving and sewing and things to do with material. She showed a thirst for knowledge at a young age. Although she was not the brightest or most mature person, she tried very hard to learn new things and practiced things until she got them right.
As she grew she became prettier and prettier, eventually becoming a very beautiful young lady. Her head grew larger than the rest of her and her vanity knew no bounds. She didn't boast or show off her good looks too obviously, but her image of herself was idealized and she held herself in high regard. The endless charade of modesty only welcomed the complements that, in turn, increased her vanity even more.
There was one tribe member in particular, a young man of about three-and-twenty, named Issak, from another Pavilion, who fell deeply in love with her. Her natural flirtatiousness and her vanity carried her away, and although he asked her hand many times in secret, she refused him, believing herself to be better, even though in her heart she knew she loved him too. She would show interest and perhaps share an embrace or kiss with him, but never enough, always leaving him burning. She continually spurned his advances and his love for her and her teasing was slowly driving him insane.
On her sixteenth birthday, he could take it no longer. As she was out collecting the right kind of clay for a family member, Issak confronted her in a rage, love and desperation fuelling his passion. He forced himself on her and she was defenseless against him. This event has caused her to despise her vulnerability and physical weakness.
When the news of this travelled, the clan banished Issak. He went without a fight, deeply regretting his loss of control, leaving a grieving Tyuru whose innocence was taken from her, physically and emotionally.
Tyuru didn’t know it yet, but she had loved Issak. Perhaps after what he did she didn’t love him as much as she had, but she couldn’t forget him. She told herself she would find him to forgive him, to redeem him in the eyes of the clan, but perhaps her motives are more selfish than she knows.
She couldn’t stand the looks of pity constantly being thrown her way by the clan members. She left in the dead of night, stealing a few provisions and taking Issak’s horse which he had been forced to leave. He had been a wonderful horseman, but she was not, and the beast was difficult for her to urge until she told it in desperate Pavi that she was seeking its master. It became compliant at that, as if it understood, and as she didn’t know the stallion’s name, she simply called him Horse.
She is still searching desperately for any sign of Issak, determined to find him. She believes he needs to know she forgives him, lest he die and become a ghost, condemned to wondering Mizahar until he receives her forgiveness.
Post Creation: She has arrived at Syliras, her heart strengthened. She hopes to find something to do with her life in the busy city. |
