Character History: Hailing from the water-filled city of Riverfall, He found himself searching for a new home after running away from his fostered home. Hitch-hiking on anything from trade ships to thief caravans. During his travels he learned much and eventually caught wind of a place called Ravok. He had always loved that Riverfall was surrounded by water, but hated that there was an under-abundance in humans. Ravok, sounded like the perfect combination of the two, a town built upon the water, and filled to the brim with humans! Despite hearing tales of slavery or an otherwise corrupt government, He set his sights on the town, and never looked back. As a child, his adopted parents spent little time home, and much time out gambling the money they got from harboring the children, so Eke was pretty much left alone, aside from his adopted brothers and sisters. Only one sibling out of the 10 or 12 that was housed inside the home, was Eke's friend, a small boy with blonde hair, the boy seemed normal enough only that his eyes were covered by a tattered grey cloth. Eke never really thought anything of it, he simply imagined the boy blind, or some illness had spread to his eyes. Eke would sit outside with the boy in the backyard and they would talk about their dreams of real families and big homes, with loving relatives. Eke and the boy spent nearly 2 years together, 2 years. On the day Eke and the boy decided they would run from their adopted homes and deliver themselves to their dream homes, they gathered they're things in secret and tucked themselves in as night fell upon the Home, and within the next few hours they would make they're escape. When the time finally came, and Eke was sure every child was asleep, and the parents were long since snoozing away, He crept out of bed and took off his pajamas, revealing his travelling clothes underneath, he buckled a belt around his waist, that he had hid under his pillow, full of bits of fruits, vegetables, and other assorted goods to live off of, and pressed a loose board up from the floor, pulling out a thin bag and putting it over his shoulder. It wasn't long before Eke had crept into the boy's room, and as soon as he creeked the door open, the boy nodded in the direction he knew the door was, and started following Eke. The boy had explained to Eke, how he could see certain things, even though his sight was poor. He could see emotions within people, or the power one carried, he didn't know what the power was, but his true mother had taught him how to use the power, so that he could at least see some of the world, So Eke wasn't concerned if the boy could follow him easily or not, he was sure, the boy could see the fear that emitted from his every pore. The boys crept downstairs and climbed out of a window they had stuck the lock of, with a piece of gum. The window slid open easily enough and back down with a slight click, as the boys jumped down into the yard. The only objective now was to get out of the city, before anyone had noticed, or not get caught by any guards. the ran through allyways and jumped over countless fences. Eke stopped for a moment within a small ally and checked around the corner. The boy stayed behind to catch his breath for a moment. Eke soon came back, "Hey, you alright?", The boy nodded and stood up strait, "I'm fine, how much further?..." the boy asked. Eke turned around and looked to the cities gates, "Not much...just a little longer...". And with that, the two boys set off again, keeping to the shadows. Suddenly, Eke's heart dropped to the floor, as the cities alarm's started to wail, He grabbed the boy and pressed him up against the wall next to him, and looked up to see a guard look over the edge of a higher up path, and a bright spotlight shine right past him. Eke held his breath as the guard looked directly at them, but due to the clouds covering the light of the moon, the guard couldn't see anything below him. The guard continued on, and Eke grabbed the boy by the hand and took off towards the gates. Alarms blaring in his ears, and townsfolk running about in their houses, Eke kept his focus on his objective, Grasping his friend's hand, practically dragging him along, Eke didn't dare look back, nor did he dare stop running as hard as he could. But it wasn't their little escape that had set the town to alarm. It was an outbreak, the prisoners, who were to be put into the arena the next day had broke out of the jails and were taking up arms against the town. And were doing a good job, hardened by dueling the most vicious creatures and other criminals, they were tearing the city of Riverfall to shreds, quickly. Eke and the boy took shelter in some shadows near the gate as many guards came rushing past, Eke took a first look and nodded, grabbed the boy's hand and started to run towards the gates, they would be exposed for about 30 yards, and Eke anticipated that if they were to be spotted, they would be rained down upon with the wrath of the Akalak, Especially considering they were human. Eke ran hard, and his friend ran just as hard, the gate was in sight, and as they approached The boy suddenly collapsed behind Eke, and within a second, Eke turned and slid to a stop, he shuddered in disbelief, An Akalak sentry dressed in full plate and wielding a double edged spear the was impaling Eke's friend to the ground. Eke's eyes started to water as he instinctively took a few steps back, not taking his eyes off the Akalak Sentry. The Sentry started taking casual steps towards Eke as he tore his spear from the chest of his fallen victim, Eke's friend. The Sentry caught up to Eke in no time, and pushed him over on his bum, Eke was terrified, his friend was gone, now he was to be killed, just for running away? it didn't seem fair, not now, not here, He failed his friend, what else is there left to fight for. Eke closed his eyes and balled up his fists, accepting what he could not now change. Warm....this is...blood?... Eke opened his eyes to see the Akalak Sentry's face stricken with pain and fear, his eyes widened and mouth open, pouring blood, from his chest a large bloody, unholy looking blade, covered in glowing blue glyphs and wrapped with chains. The blade retracted from the Sentry and he fell forward, spewing blood onto the ground, revealing the monster behind him. Standing over 6 feet tall, a glowing demonic looking figure dressed in the most unholy looking of armor, adorned with spikes, chains, glyphs, old blood, cursed gems, and tattered cloth, towered over Eke. He had thought the worst was over, but this, was his fate to be worse than that of death itself? Oddly though the creature simply turned, and walked the other direction, fading into a bluish purple light, and beyond that stood Eke's friend, blood covering his right hand, and his eyes no longer covered by the cloth. Eke stared, the boy's eyes weren't like his, where a human's pupils are round, his were shaped like stars, His blood covered the ground where a white circle had been drawn. along with more elaborate lines and shapes within. a strong blue light emitted from the circle, and Eke's friend stood behind it, clothes billowing from the force created by the circle. "What.....?" was all Eke could mutter, as he stared the boy covered one of his eyes with the palm of his hand, and slowly held it out in front of him, the eye he had covered now closed and blood pouring from it down his cheek. From his palm a blue bolt of lightning shot around him and then sped over to Eke, smashing into his head, sending Eke flying out the gates of Riverfall and into the river...... .... When Eke awoke, he was on small beach, having fallen from a great waterfall, he washed up luckily on the shore not too far from Riverfall. He stood to his feet and gathered what was left of his things, and took a final look up the waterfall. Only able to use one eye, the other one felt like it was on fire. His vision was still slightly blurry. But he trudged on despite it. _________________________________________________________________... Training (Skills, Arcana, Gnosis, Lore)
