Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Daemon looked upon Syrah with some sort of interest. She surprised him a bit. He could see her flickering emotions clearly on her adorable face, but he had a hard time reading her. She seemed eagerly to move on, but stayed anyway.
She assumed him to be a kelvic, which was not wrong. She couldn't have known, unless he had been so interested in hearing about the other kelvic. He had to remember this. If he had acted a bit more laid back, she might have seen him as a human.
Daemon found himself curious about this new information, but he had no idea how to use it. He saved it for later purpose and was about to answer the girl, when the boy started to investigate Daemons looks. He was not sure, that he liked being analyzed like that. But it was peculiar how the kelvic could figure him out.

" You forgot to tell me your animal" Daemon tried to analyze the boy same way as he had, but he had a hard time doing it. He could easily see, that Dex was some sort of critter. But Daemon had no idea what.

" I am a kelvic " He replied to the girl and let his eyes glance at hers.
" I am the biggest feline. I am a white tiger!" He got a fierce look in his eyes and it was obvious that he was proud of being what he was.
" Odd eyes? Well, you can call me a mutant of the bengal tiger if that makes you feel better!" Daemon couldn't resist it, and a gorgeous smile appear on his face, showing his tiny, pearl-like string of milk teeth

Two Kelvics and a Winemaker

Syrah found it funny how Lewis talked about the child as if he was not there. But the boy didn't seem to mind. Actually he replied to their question with a very cute and proud smile on his face. Syrah found herself smiling as his smile. And she didn't even like kids! Everything about her was changing and she wasn't sure if she liked it.

She was completely shocked that this tiny, pale, almost sickly looking kid could be a white Bengal tiger, she just could not the believe that that was true, but you could see it in the boys eyes. That he was, in fact, what he said he was. Syrah gaped at the boy in utter astonishment.

"What is your name?" She asked suddenly, she wanted to know more about this boy, she was interested. "Where are your parents?"

Then she looked down, obviously embarrassed that she had demanded such an answer. What if they were dead or missing, how would you feel then huh? She asked herself.

John watched as Syrah seemed to enjoy getting to know this child. Thinking that maybe she was warming up to kelvics as a race, and possibly to him as a person made him happy. The idea of bonding to her was attractive, especially since they seemed able to talk to each other easily. However, he knew she had certain issues with things Lewis did not understand, so he thought he ought to make sure he understood her view on things before approaching the idea of bonding.

The child, whose name he would hopefully soon learn, said that he was a white tiger with considerable and understandable pride. Though, it did make Lewis feel a twinge of anxiety. Kelvics usually did not eat each other, out of mutual respect as a race, but it wasn't unknown to happen, especially when ordered to by a bond mate.

"I am a Kelvic Ferret. And I get plenty of exercise, so I will not require being chased by you in your fine tiger form."

Lewis said that with a hint of a smile, letting the tiger child know he was sure nothing possibly painful would occur. However, his juggling did falter when he tried doing 5 balls in a small arch, a feat that Lewis had a lot of trouble with so far. Gathering them up, he started back at three balls and began the exercise again.

" My name is Daemon " He liked that the girl was obviously surprised by his nature. "What is yours? Both of you? "

Daemon turned his look towards the boy, who seemed a bit appalled by his answer. A ferret. That was some kind of a large rat. Or was it similiar to a weasel? Maybe both. Daemon never ate predactors. He liked mice and rats, but anything bigger than that, which ate meat, was not for him. The muzzles seemed to tender.
He would prefer a rabbit anytime.

" I don't eat ferrets. But I do enjoy your ball throwing. How did you learn to do it - and why?" Slowly he tilthed his head a bit to inspect the 5 balls in the air, but as Dex dropped them on the ground, Daemon turned his head to Syrah again.

His parents. Why did she wanted to know? He was big enough to take care of himself. But as a bright red colour vialised on her cheeks, it came clear to him that she was blushing. Maybe she regretted the question. Either way, Daemon had to answer her, as the conversation would get weird if he just the question hang dry in the air.

" I have no parents, nor do I have a leader. I am on my own, having left home for good. "

Satisfied with his answer, he quickly asked them another question

" Are you bonded? " He watched them closely, wanted to read their reactions to his question.

"I am Syrah... and you choose to live on your own? Your just a boy." She was confused, and as the boy, Daemon, kept talked she just got more confused.

Leader? Bonded? Syrah doesn't know a lot about Kelvics so she didn't understand the bonding process, nor had she even heard of it. He seemed to direct the question as one, but to both of them, asking if they were bonded together. What did he mean by that?

"Bonded. What do you mean? I don't understand what that is." She asked, bewildered.

Syrah was now paying way more attention to the tiger than she was the ferret when she felt a sort of wave, with lack of another explniation, of happyness come at her. She turned, extremely confused to Dex, were the feeling came from. She looked at him and asked, "Are you okay? That was weird..."

Syrah was just getting more and more confused.

John watched as Daemon and Syrah both talked, and replied to questions from them both.

"I picked up juggling because it use to drive my mom nuts. She was a kelvic dog, so my juggling got her full and ultimate attention. As a dog she loved to chase balls. When I learned it made people happy to watch, I kept it up and always practice."

He smiled fondly at his early memories. He first learned juggling while on a boat, so it was more difficult, but made a difference when he ended up sticking to land. A ferret really wasn't designed for swimming, but he could live on a boat easily enough. In fact he had for the past year until he came here, the city he ended up being born.

Syrah spoke for a moment and then he suddenly had a feeling of curiosity and wonder, a feeling of questioning. It passed, and the feeling wasn't abnormal for Lewis, so he ignored it. Syrah asked about something though.

"I am ok. And my state of being is not weird. Anyway, bonding is a kelvic thing. Makes things interesting for him and someone he serves. You guys want to go do something fun? I'll be back in a flash."

Of course he took their answer for yes. Who doesn't like doing fun things? He turned around and sprinted to the park and started getting his little surprise ready. He hadn't done this with people yet, but it should be awesome.

Daemon looked puzzled at Syrah. Just a boy? He was certainly not! If she had said that he was just a cub, it would have been better. He had to fight against a feeling of wanting to transform at the very moment and show her his real form. Maybe then, she would understand, that he were not merely "just a boy".

He suddenly saw the change between the couple. The kelvic didn't seem to notice it very much. But the impact it had on the human. Daemon was curious and didn't even got the time to say anything before Dex turned and ran away.

Deamon then turned his attention to the girl. With widely opened eyes full of eager to get knowledge he tried to be as steady as possible even though he was trembling with excitement.

" WHAT was that? What happened? Why are you shaking? Is there something wrong? "

She didn't understand, she was scared and confused and Lewis didn't seem fazed at all. Did he, did he feel what she felt? That 'wave' of emotion that rolled off his body and drifted to her? This wasn't normal and she had never experienced something like that before. Was this what they were talking about? The bonding thing?

No she was NOT okay, and she didn't know what happened, and YES there was certainty something wrong!

Syrah didn't realize she was shaking till the boy told her so. She looked down at her hands and noticed that, yes, they were indeed shaking. Then a realization struck her.

"Tell me, about the bonding, what is it?" She demanded.

She had not paid attention to what Lewis had said, and didn't care when he left, in fact she was glad to be rid of the source of the 'emotion wave'. She only cared that the boy told her what was happening as soon as possible.

Daemon was a bit cautious now. Did the two of them..? No, he didn't think they did. Not completely. But he had to do something. The damn ferret was gone, not coming back any time soon. And Daemon could see how startled the girl was. And now she asked him about the bonding.

He was not sure, that he knew much of it. And the things he knew, well, he kinda didn't wanted to tell her. Instead he wanted to calm her down.

" Listen, lets just relax and take a deep breath, okay? " Daemon smiled a calm smile to the girl and was unsure how to settle something.

" Tell me, what you felt. Maybe I can help you with that. I, ehm " Hes eyes flickered - just for a second - but enough to show that he was nervous with the situation. He felt exposed at the street and most of all wanted to run away.

" The ferret will be back in a minute. You forgot to tell me, what you worked with? " Daemon took a step closer to her, not sure if he should hold her hands to make them stop shakin'.

She was startled yes, but when the child talked to her as if SHE was the kid and HE was the adult, it snapped her back into her usual self. Then she felt bad for the kid, he was obviously nervous.

"I.. I am fine, it was nothing, I'm sure." She reassured the boy.

But she didn't want the ferret back, she didn't want to feel whatever she felt again. She needed...she needed to leave, quickly.

"No, no... I... I need to go, uh, home." She stammered. But she hesitated unsure of what to do.
