Character's Name Basic Information Race: Drykas Birthday & Age : 4th day of Spring, 18 Gender: Female Physical Description Alina is small and lithe, her frame slender. She has an unsettling habit of making eye contact people just a fraction longer than is comfortable. This leaves people, especially outsiders, with a slight unease towards her and her green eyes, although they cannot say why. Her skin, originally light, has become tanned under the harsh sun. Alina's features posses a certain stubbornness. Her jaw is too strong and her lips too thin for her to be said a traditional beauty, but she carries with her a charisma or energy of sorts. Her hair is woven with many blue ribbons representing deaths of her pavilion members. Her windmarks wind up her back and neck and end on her left cheek, the tisting black lines clearly visible on her visage. Character Concept Alina is a strong young woman. She has faced the death of most her family with quiet dignity. Still, she struggles for a feeling of true belonging with all of her real family gone. Alina feels isolated by the incident and acts as thus. Although she shares a pavillion with her cousins, she mostly hunts for herself and travels away from the rest of the pavillion. She has a feeling of restlessness with a life simply based upon survival. Alina is at that age where she is questioning her purpose in life and trying to decide what exactly to do with herself. Character History Alina was born into the Westwood Pavillion. She was originally Nalethe, but later changed her name to honor Alin, late father and the patriarch of her family. Her mother, the only wife of Alin, died after giving birth to her, the third of three children. Her life was that of a normal Drykas child. She learned how to swordfight and how to shoot a bow and arrow, constantly pitting herself against her two older brothers. When she was ten however, her father and brothers were killed on a hunting trip by unexpected bad weather. This was terrible luck for Alina. She dealt with the deaths fairly calmly as she knew they would all be reborn at some point, but they were now unable to care for her. She was forced to sell the Westwood Pavillion and ran off, knowing that the Drykas owed her no debt, as she had no windmarks. She and the hunting dog her family owned nearly died before she found a herd of striders. Sleeping next to them kept her alive through the cold nights. A young foal soon bonded with her and the herd nudged her out back towards Erdrykas, knowing, with their heightened intelligence that she belonged with he people. Her cousins accepted her warmly enough into their pavillion where she finally received her windmarks.
