Tucked just outside the gates of Riverfall up against a fertile hillside, The Bluevein Winery is one of Riverfalls iconic sites. It is said the winery was built even before the city walls were in place and speaking with the owner one would find out this is absolutely the truth. The ancient feel to the structure reaffirms this. Set on thousands of acres of prime land on the north side of the river, The Bluevein Winery hosts an assortment of grape vines ranging from blue, to red, to gold and a select few of albino grape vines and godspirit vines touched by the djed storm of 512. The vineyards, all six of them in total, are lovingly cared for by the Black family which has owned the vineyard for all of its Cyphrus existence. Galifanis Black was said to have carried vines from Valkalah itself even as the Valterrian was destroying the ancient Akalak city with the force of Ivak's rage. From those vines grew the current six varieties. The vineyards are planted on the north side of the river because the continuous mist from the Bluevein drifts upwards and blankets the hillside keeping the vines always freshly watered. The Bluevein Winery sells local and exports both though the export depends on how well the harvest went. Its sprawling structures house all the equipment necessary for all the stages of wine making and storage including fruit processing. Unlike other Akalak businesses, seasonal employment does not ebb and flow. Instead the Winery Manager, especially the Vineyard Manager, tends to keep the same people on year round to keep tight control on the quality and consistency of the wines they produce. Growing up among the vines, the Black family is synonymous with wine and vinting. Jon has lived and breathed grapes and grape quality all his life. Friendly and approachable, Jon and Kozar are often times willing to hire people to help at their vineyard so long as those people seem able to take direction and work closely with his current staff.   Mason Charvi Name: Mason Charvi Race: Dyrkas DoB: 480 AV (32 YO) PoB: Endrykas Title: Head Viticulturist Skills: Vinting 65, Botany 55, Bullwhip 45 Gnosis: 3 Bala As a priest of Bala, Mason left the Sea of Grass at an early age (just after 22) and found himself at Jonathan Black's door. Jonathan had just lost his uncle to a slave raid accident and that left him without serious help in the vineyard and winery. Mason discovered he worked well with Jon and together the two of them have been overseeing the winery ever since. Mason is generally in charge of the day to day workings of the vines while more and more Jon and Koz oversee the actual vinting.   Employment Opportunities Employment Vineyard Manager: VIP in charge of the entire grape growing process, the Vineyard manager is in charge of supervising employees (harvest and other seasonal help), creating training for those employees, and business (or rather vineyard) planning throughout the year. Further, this vineyard job has budget responsibilities in accordance to the vineyard, such as monitoring to ensure maintaining within budget and recommending future budget adjustments. Finally, don't forget about the viticulture responsibilities, such as monitoring the health of the grapes, recommending best practices for viticulture, and maintaining records for the vine performance. Viticulturist: Assistant to the Vineyard Manager, the Viticulturist oversees and monitors the grapes (water status and health), pest and disease monitoring, crop estimations, monitoring nutrition and fertilization of the vines, harvest coordination, and managing the field crews. Viticulturist Assistant: Person that will often be called upon for seasonal work to assist the viticulturist and vineyard manager. The duties and responsibilities include monitoring grapes for disease and pests, crop estimations, and maturity sampling and water stress monitoring. In addition Bluevein needs folks with training in gardening, farming, venting, sales, and special events coordination.

Vlaam wandered around the winery for what seemed like hours. He felt like going in, but couldn't think of what to say. Even more so, would they hire him. He rubbed the glittering necklace that slightly chafed his neck. He paced once more, trying to think of what to say. He had experience and patience. His face went pale while he thought of something to say if he got an 'interview'. "Okay Vlaam, you can do this. Its easy, ask for the job, tell him about wine and grapes or something. Its that easy." He said.

Vlaam straightened his shirt and made himself look presentable. He wrapped his coat around him and walked into the building. "Hello? Jonathon? Kozar? Hello? I...I'm looking for a job. I know about grapes and wine......hello? I know a good deal about Bluevein Wine. My favorite is......its.......Ice." He said, noting to himself how nervous and stupid he sounded, even for such a young Kelvic. "I'll wait out here, if your in the building." He said fast, with much anticipation and anxiety at the same time.
