[Mage Guild] Summer Recruitment

Hi everybody! We are the Order of Transcendence, a mage guild based in and around Alvadas. We are recruiting members from Summer onwards. This guild is officially open to new members. Drop a message here to indicate interest though if you happen to be in Alvadas on Day 89 Spring, feel free to join this thread

So, before you make the plunge... What exactly is the Order? What do we do? What do we stand for?

Without further ado, here are our goals and objectives. Consider these and make sure that they align with your PC before joining, for this is one of the most important things to think about.

• Expand and stretch the known boundaries of magic
• Discover and relearn lost magical disciplines
• Seek the True Way
• Reinvent hybridization of magical disciplines and paramagic

To a lesser extent, the Order also wishes to

• Reduce the stigma of magic in the eyes of the public
• Become a recognized regulating and endorsement agency of magic
• Empower and enlighten the masses

What we like to be:

• Cutting-edge and ground-breaking research institute
• Platform for like-minded researchers, wizards and scientists to share ideas

What we definitely aren't/do not provide:

• School to learn free magic
• Free facilities or resources

Compulsory requirements:

• Alignment with our goals and objectives
• Can function in a reasonable manner with others
• Loyalty to Guild, its members, and aims
• Passion in pursuing knowledge and reinvention
• At least Competent in one magic discipline OR healing-related skillMedicine, Herbalism OR paramagicPhiltering, Gadgeteering OR utility gnosisSuch as gnosis of Eyris, Avalis or Rak'keli

This thread is mainly to gather interest and to raise hype for when Summer arrives. If, however, you wish to have your PC join in Spring, post in the thread linked above, and admission would be possible if your PC is deemed suitable in the thread.

Hey I'm in! I'm a contempt projectionist and it sounds like slot of good fun and ideas. There are a few things I would Ike to know though.

1st: How many members are there already?
2nd: Do we already have an actual base of operations?
3rd: Will living space be provided for member?
4th: Will our research be funded or do we pay for it ourselves?
5th: Will the individual that makes a breakthrough in research be forced to give over all his findings or just what he/she chooses!

@Thelos:

1) uhh... 6. I think.
2) We have a temporary base for summer here, with plans to gather enough funds to afford a proper base.
3) At the moment, no. We hope to do that in the future though. For the time being, you need either a house in Alvadas, or to rent a room in the Cubacious Inn (which should be cheap enough to stay in if you have a job).
4) The guild will try its best to fund its members' research. But since we are still a starting organization with limited funds, do try to understand our limitations. We will do the best we can though.
5) The individual will not be forced per se, but wouldn't it make sense to return to the guild what it gives you? If the guild offers a member funds, resources, companions in the form of like-minded individuals, and other intangibles that come as a result of having an organization of researcher-wizards, wouldn't it be common sense to give back to the guild? "forced to give over all his findings" is a strong word; I prefer the word "share". Think of something similar to the modern academic world. You make a breakthrough, you write a research paper, credit is primarily given to you, with the guild indirectly credited in terms of your affiliation.
