High above the gap between the Petal of the Timid Cougar and the Meditative Petal, there is what at first looks like a giant bundle of sticks and twigs nestled between the trunks of smaller trees, trees that grew upon the massive branches of the Bloodwoods. Upon closer inspection, it is revealed to be a massive nest, larger than any made by any other bird known to The Spires. The trees around the nest are also inhabited by hundreds of nests from many species of birds that aren't ever found coexisting. Hawks, eagles, songbirds, all living together without preying on one another. Avian Kelvics will even find themselves drawn to this area when in the city. This only occurs here, no place else, will such a harmony be found.
The Roost has been around for as long as the Jamoura could recall. Twice it has been destroyed, once during the Valterrian, and once during the Djed Storm of 512. However, immediately, and with none to witness it, the nest was rebuilt. This, plus the affinity of the birds peaceful behavior, led them to believe this was a nest belonging to Eywaat himself. And as it turns out, Eywaat visits quite often among the harmonized chirps, calls, and screeches of the birds. He always arrives in the form of a massive dire bird, differing each visit depending on his mood. He enjoys discussing a wide variety of topics, as he's seen much of the world. However, he often picks topics that he suspects those he's speaking with know a fair amount on, and will discuss in such a way that his visitors will have epiphanies from their own knowledge. He also teaches a profound respect and understanding for birds of all types and their significance on the world. He has also been known to use the Roost for his excursions after finding a women with a face of beauty and a tongue of silver.
If one doesn't have wings, it is quite difficult to reach the Roost successfully. There are no direct routes, no bridges, no simple swing vines, not even climbing the trees that support the nest, which is considered wholly taboo. There is a single Slugsuckle vine that drops down into the nest from the canopy above, but reaching that vine is quite the challenge. It is considered an unofficial right of passage for denizens, particularly the younger Jamoura. There are several other trees a fair distance away from the nest, as well as vines, gaps, falls, and leaps of faith. Ingenuity and problem solving is the key, especially since the Slugsuckle vines grow and fall constantly, thus always changing the route. There are nets below all of The Spires to catch those who find themselves not quite making the leap. It is also very, very frowned upon to crash into the nest, which while capable of withstanding the force, is still considered sacred.
Once inside the nest, one will find it large enough to hold roughly ten people or five Jamoura. There is always a wide assortment of birds sitting amongst the nest, calm, relaxed. They are much more approachable than they would be in the wild, often allowing total strangers and those with a fear of birds to pet them, without fear of injury.

Name: Maluna Race: Kelvic, Parrot DoB: 506 AV PoB: FalyndarTitle: Keeper of Eywaat's Roost Skills: Bird keeping 68, Falconry 57, Singing 51, Impersonation 43, Wilderness Survival 36 Gnosis: 2 Marks of Eywaat Originally from the jungles of Falyndar, Maluna eventually found herself in The Spires. Being one of the smarter types of birds, she eventually found herself bored with the simple conversations with the other birds. She began to learn their calls, their songs, their habits, and she began mimicking many different types, until she found herself amongst almost every flock. This eventually caught the interest of Eywaat, and the two began a long courtship. The two haven't yet wed, but she is one of his favorite lovers, and the two are quite enamored with each other. They can often be found singing and dancing with one another in his Roost. Maluna is quite approachable, though can be quite sarcastic at times. She loves to impersonate new people and test their knowledge, or lack there of, but will also teach them after the berating. She also occasionally will be found singing with the entire roost of birds, a symphony that the Jamoura find quite beautiful, and is often considered a good luck charm for young lovers.
