Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

[Riverfall Location] Nia's Boarding House

Nia's is a tiny boarding house nestled into the cliff walls with a lovely view of the waterfall and next to the airy glory of Zulrav's tower. It's a nondescript sort of place, and could be mistaken as just a house if it wasn't for the tiny sign on the door. The boarding house has only 5 rooms to rent, as it is still an actual house, occupied by Nia herself, an older Konti (though you'd never know and she'd never tell), who cleans and cooks and rents out her house to women in need of a quiet, sheltered place to live.

The house has a shared study, living room, dining room, and kitchen. There are two baths, which all of the residents share as well. Nia usually allows the women under her roof to share or rotate cooking duties for all meals, especially so that everyone can enjoy cultural dishes from their countries of origin, but she'll also enjoy cooking whenever no one else wants to. The kitchen is open at all times, though the ladies tend to enjoy as many meals together as possible for companionship. There are two floors, with the kitchen, dining room, kitchen, and two bedrooms on the first floor. One bath is there, as well, which the two bedrooms share. One of the downstairs bedrooms, the largest, is Nia's. Upstairs is a study and three other bedrooms, all of which share the upstairs bath. One downstairs room and one upstairs room has a window, but the others are carved into the stone itself.

Most of her boarders are found through word of mouth, and she is very careful about who she allows under her roof, though she is often more concerned about caring for women in need than a regular payment on rent. First and foremost, Nia considers her boarding house a shelter. Having earned her own freedom from bondage, she's opened her house as a place of safety to other women, regardless of their situation.

All rooms at the boarding house are small, and only a few have windows since the house is built into the cliffside. Those that don't have windows are well-lit. Every room is sparingly decorated with a bed, a desk, a chair, a small closet, and a dresser. Occupants are welcome to decorate as they see fit as long as they aren't destructive.

Nia is always moving. She's a gregarious, friendly woman who has found peace with her tumultuous past in a way that is both beautiful and inspiring. There is a hidden fierceness in her, though, and it often shows in a flash of her violet eyes when there is a problem. She always has a smile for those who need it, and a kind word for everyone else. She knows when to listen instead of speak and has a knack of spotting women who need her. Even when she has no rooms available, she always has more women in her home, counseling, healing, and entertaining.

While she has no problems with her boarders having men in their lives, none of them are allowed to stay over at her boarding house and are only allowed in the downstairs living room under supervision. Nia keeps a tight reign on possible problems and will not tolerate any bending of her rules about personal safety and wise decisions.

While living at Nia's Boarding House, you must be at Common level living.

A willingness to share in cooking and cleaning duties is also required, as Nia views her boarding house as a home and her boarders as family.

Nia's main concern is to take care of women in Riverfall who need support, healing, and possibly counseling. She always is quick to favor those coming from Godivas over travelers, though she is willing to take in any woman looking for a place to stay long-term if she has the room.
