Considered one of the most mysterious cities in Mizahar, Alvadas is called The City of Illusions. It is the home of Ionu and the notorious Inverted. This city sits on one of the main crossroads through The Region of Kalea.

"Let me put it to you this way," he said with a slow smile. "I will be observant, as I have said, and attempt to learn what I can of seafaring from observation or from helping as necessary. But in times that are slow, if there is nothing else for me to do, you might be subject to recitations of Eypharian epic poetry. You will not understand the language, and most foreigners find our art inaccessible. So a little distraction might vary our days."
Of course, he would have to keep his voice in shape. There would be the sea air to contend with, and then the air of Cyphrus. When he came to Eyktol, it would be imperative he keep hydrated so as not to dry out his vocal apparatus. And then he should be swimming if ever the boat came to rest, or he would have to practice his sword-dancing either without swords or with extreme caution so as not to leave them stranded in the middle of the Suvan Sea without a mast.
Ah, the joys of travel. |

Galys passed the rest of the day at the aft end of Laviku's Wind, carving away at the piece of wood. It was taking the shape of... something, he was sure, though he couldn't say what. The sun began to sink in the sky, painting it with a brilliant sunset. Galys didn’t try to make small talk, as it was, concentrating on trying to gouge just the right amount of wood from what seemed to be the rough shape of a rather generically carved fish’s eye. It was sad, really, to be honest, and he would take momentary breaks to check the heading of his ship.
Admittedly, he thought, I’m one of the dullest ferryman-captains on the Suvan. |
