Any traveller that has visited Riverfall will easily call it one of the most beautiful places in the world. Stone houses intertwined with green foliage determined to make an appearance and the river slicing through the cliff is quite a romantic picture. However, the vertical nature of the city can make it difficult, if not impossible, to appreciate the beauty of Riverfall to its fullest extent from within its boundaries or from atop the cliff, and often the best views can only be seen when approaching or departing from the city by ship. Because of this Laviku’s Secret, Riverfall’s only mobile eatery, enjoys healthy business from both visitors and long-time residents. This cruise ship offers views of its home city that are difficult to come by, served with music and a slightly overpriced meal. No one is quite sure of the sloop’s origins; seized from pirates who most likely did not build it themselves, the mysterious vessel is the base of a number of superstitions. Nevertheless, it is one of Riverfall’s higher-end businesses and shows no signs of declining. Though it may change its schedule on select holidays, Laviku’s Secret usually serves early lunch during an easy circle around Riverfall’s base, offering a pleasant midday view of the best sides of the city. It also serves dinner during a sunset voyage around the base, providing both the most beautiful and most expensive views that the home of the Akalak can offer. Hruthar
Name: Hruthar Zannis Race: Akalak DoB: Winter of 450, AV PoB: Riverfall Title: Owner of Laviku's Secret Skills: 78 Persuasion, 59 Business, 41 Organization, 35 Mathematics Gnosis: None Hruthar, though not a bad person, finds it difficult to care for things that do not directly benefit him. A vicious haggler, it was he that bought and renamed Laviku’s Secret and turned it into what it is today. He handles all business transactions, though his incredibly blunt manner of interacting with others causes him to leave the actual socializing to his colleagues. Alia Mnerit
Name: Alia Mnerit Race: Human DoB: Summer 490, AV PoB: Claridon Title: Cook and Manager of Laviku's Secret (aka "the Lasher") Skills: 54 Cooking, 49 Socializing, 30 Intimidation Gnosis: None While she may be gentle and courteous to customers, those who work for her fear her. With a voice like a lash and less patience than could fit in a thimble, she talks fast, assigns large amounts of work and expects her employees to keep up. While Laviku’s Secret certainly provides good sights, her food prevents it from becoming a mere ferry and though it is certainly not the best on Mizahar, it is well-made and filling. Skrev
Name: Skrev Mnerit Race: Human DoB: Summer 490, AV PoB: Claridon Title: None (Skrev has been long searching for a name of his exact position, but as of yet has never come up with one.) Skills: 44 Accounting, 43 Socializing, 37 Business, 5 Massage Gnosis: None Slow to anger and quick to calm, Skrev is a likeable fellow with a gentle sense of humor. Though he does little on the ship itself, he takes care of most arrangements made between Hruthar and others. He works out appointments with patrons, organizes nightly entertainment and carries all complaints to his superiors. He rarely goes on the trips themselves, but can easily be found on the docks during off hours, tending to the ship. Prices
Though some may say that the prices are a tad excessive, no one would particularly disagree. The novelty of a sunset look at Riverfall is the main attraction and the food, while nice, isn’t particularly as stellar as, perhaps, the Almond Flower. A midday meal and tour is 20 gm per person while a sunset meal and tour is 25. Both include a large banquet/buffet set on a long table in the center of the ship that the passengers can eat from as they wish. There is also a special powder one can buy called glowdust at 7 gm per bag that doesn't really do anything but give off a faint light, and passengers find amusement throwing it into the wind or water and watching it float around like small stars. This activity is especially popular after dark. Employment
There are always spots open on the culinary team because so many drop out, and nearly anyone who applies for a job is guaranteed to get a position. Pay starts at 3gm per day, but will increase at a rate of 1gm per season still in active duty. After one year, it will increase at a rate of 2gm per year still in active duty. Alia values experience and respects those who stay on for a long time.
Musicians are paid 4gm per performance, and though the pay might not be spectacular this is a good opportunity to impress some of the richer and more powerful people in the city. * Location Credit goes to Khasr. Thank you for your RF Contribution! |
