Faval was any mixture of the words stunned, mesmerized, confused, and star struck at what was happening here and he could only watch in stunned, mesmerized confusion as she gently brushed against his hand and brought it and the arrow up to her face as she rubbed her cheek against it, which logically made no sense at all to Faval as to why she would do that…it also made no sense as to why it affected him so greatly. It took him that long to figure out what she had even asked him and no, he didn’t want her to move away but he didn’t really know why she was so close either. Faval, his face darkening by the second, and becoming almost unhealthily so when the girl let out a groan that completely caught Faval off guard, snapped out of his trance a few moments later. Relinquishing the arrow that the girl was so lovingly caressing her face with, Faval quickly and frantically slid away from her, hoping that some kind of distance would allow him to clear his head. It did, a little bit, not enough to make any lasting impact but he felt the blood circulating through his brain a little more efficiently. He was afraid he had offended her though by trying to feel so suddenly and returned her gaze with an apologetic, confused look as he desperately tried to shake loose the cobwebs in his head. Faval had never seen a snake person in Zeltiva before and considering that she had managed to wander in to a spot no one ever went to, he wasn’t sure she was really from around here. So, as per usual, Faval extended an invitation whose implications he was ignorant to. He simply wanted to make up for offending her by running away when she got close. He didn’t want her to think that he thought she smelled or something...yes that’s the reasoning they were going with.
“Do you have anywhere to stay in Zeltiva? I need to get back and I don’t want to leave you out here by yourself…I’m afraid you’ll actually get hit by a stray arrow or a sword or something…”
Faval only realized after he said that how it could be possible interpreted as offensive. He had no idea how sensitive people of his own race were, much less those of others and he knew plenty of humans who were fiercely proud of their ability to survive on their own. Faval, quickly trying to cover up his potential blunder, quickly stammered out more words.
“Not that you couldn’t find a place to stay on your own or…something or yeah…I just figured giving you a roof for the night would be the least I could do for almost shooting you…if you want to find something on your own more power to you and…stuff.”
