(This is a thread from Mizahar's fantasy role playing forums. Why don't you register today? This message is not shown when you are logged in. Come roleplay with us, it's fun!)
The player scrapbooks forum is literally a place for writers to warm-up, brainstorm, keep little scraps of notes, or just post things to encourage themselves and each other. Each player can feel free to create their own thread - one per account - and use them accordingly.
It's been what, three days and yet I feel like I've been gone from Miz for well over a week. But I've got the day off, thank goodness, so I'm gonna be playing some serious catch-up.
I'm really glad you like the video Phoenix its entire epicness is just insane.
While I was gone I came by this article that I thought was really quite fascinating. In fact I'm still having a long intellectual discussion about it with someone over Facebook. (At this point we're getting to where we could probably just use everything there to write our own follow up article.) Whether or not I'll post a tid-bit or two of it here from it I'm not sure yet, as its still going on.
Anyway here's the article. I'm not going to jump around and make stereotypes or assumptions regarding people on an RP site or anything of that sort, but I know I personally related to it quite a lot and was pretty shocked (if not saddened) by the truth in it. Its pretty long, and I may end up just posting some of my favorite quotes or points he makes here, but I would seriously recommend reading it all the way through.
Here's a Youtube video as well that one of my "discussion partners" brought up. It relates a lot with the point about education made in the article, specifically regarding math. Not to mention the person speaking is a complete genius.
I'm currently lacking the mental capacity to full express it, but that article spoke to me in a variety of ways. I feel like I owe a long rant detailing my opinion on it. Perhaps I'll attempt one when I'm feeling better.
