Timestamping & Travel Question

I'm trying to plot out a Summer 512 journey for my PC & co, but the timestamping aspect of the Mizahar (which is a really great concept, btw) is muddling up my timeline a bit. I'm not sure how many days I should plan for as travel time between certain cities.

For example, my PC will be travelling from Riverfall to Alvadas via ship. Would you be able to give me an idea of approximately how long would this trip take in days, assuming there aren't any serious pitfalls (ie. being eaten by sea monsters, pirates sinking the ship)? I was thinking 5-10 days, but that's really just a wild guess.

And likewise, I'm wondering about the time it would take to get from Alvadas to Syliras by ship, from Syliras to Zeltiva by foot (or horse), and from Zeltiva to Mora by ship.

Is there a rule of thumb you go by? I've been reading through the Miza lore, but haven't come across anything yet (please, point it out to me if it's there and I've looked in all the wrong places!).

The answer to this question is never easy. Here is a chart that shows straight line distances between various locations. Now.. you'll have to do some research on your own, but basically figure out how fast the boat can travel, take into account weather and stuff (basically add a couple days just to be safe), maybe even ask the STs of the two cities what they think about your calculations. For overland travel you also have to take into account terrain. It takes longer to cross a mountain than empty plains. Anyway, hope this was helpful.

In answer to your question (while looking at the distance chart to give you an idea of the distances that I'm translating), if traveling by small ship (i.e. a Svefra casinor), I tend to figure about 10 days/1000 miles. From Riverfall to Alvadas is a very short distance, and I believe I figured between 5-8 days, depending on the weather. From Alvadas to Syliras is 10-15, and from Zeltiva to Mura by ship is about another 15-20, if I remember correctly. Again, like you said, it depends on the weather and sea obstacles (monsters/pirates/storms).

By foot, I'm not sure. I'm only used to calculating by sea. :retard:

You both gave very helpful answers. I think it may start off with a bit of trial and error, but I'll definitely do my best with those guidelines (and that chart). As for now, I'm bookmarking this thread for future plans.
