Eoteb
Name: Eoteb of the East Winds (EY-aht-sehb) Race: Eypharian Birthday & Age: Summer 39, 488 AV (24 years old) Gender: Female
Eoteb, or Yotti to some, is a composite of the close noble family around which she has lived her whole life. Like her father, she is a largely loyal person and values intelligence over entitlement, much to the disdain of her bitter mother. What Eoteb gained from the woman was a forthright attitude and a knack for first-judgments. From her sister she learned a fondness for study, especially in the practice of herbalism. She is known to act as any pleasant noblewoman should in most circumstances, but shows her true passions at the mention of it. Without any ambition outside of her potions, the game of society is just that: Eoteb must delight in the playing more than in the outcome. She knows little of life outside of royal walls, and is content in her ignorance.
Six-armed and 5'5", Eoteb appears as a typical eypharian whenever she can. Her eyes are dark brown and her hair is darker. It is cut in a strict line beside her chin and above her eyes, falling less than flat without some fuss. Her body is a royal shade of gold and well-adorned in the jewels of her rank, her face painted more often than it isn't. She dresses to hide her weaknesses and considers herself a rival to her peers in both beauty and mind. Though she presumes to speak of vanity as a necessary evil for one of her birth, she follows seasonal fashion trends with some eagerness.
Eoteb was born into the East Winds House, and has had little reason to leave it. Her mother, Mesta, is more a woman of society than industry, with blood that traces far back into Eastern royalty. Her father, Nefer, is one of the many in charge of the House's coffers, having married up from the ranks of the gilded for his talents in mathematics. Though she was lucky to be blessed with good health, her younger sister, Rosshe, was not. Even in youth, Eoteb found herself responsible for her sister's many ailments and weaknesses, and so developed a necessary interest in medicines. She loves Rosshe immensely, though it sometimes seems that she prefers solving the mystery of her sicknesses over her company alone. Most would have guessed it all too likely that Eoteb would grow to become a talented healer, though as she aged she grew closer to Dira than to Rak’keli. Lately, as her sister's health confines her to her bed, Eoteb’s passions are becoming less focused. She works for the sake of discovery instead of solely for healing, often at the expense of unlucky slaves, and has developed a keen interest in the art of poison.
