The young man allowed himself to rest for a moment in the comforting embrace of his elder. Ethan never doubted that Hadrian was comforting soul, just didn't know or didn't want to show it freely. Which was fine with him. Compared to his last teacher, if you could call him that, Hadrian was as sweet and delightful as honey comb. If he were a house cat, he would most definitely be purring. He often thought about what it would be like to take the skin of another animal. It was was simple luck he formed into a Lammergeier. From what Hadrian had told him, it rarely passed in a hereditary fashion. His curious musings allowed him sanctuary from memories better left for later and quickened his recovery. "you're good at this, comforting someone." He held Hadrian's hand in his own and kissed his wrist, a silent thank you. "Let's go home and get good and drunk."

So much on this site we lose out on the flow of true conversations because characters speak entire novels with single posts, which don't allow for a true exchange of ideas between them and the one they "communicate" with. This was a breath of fresh air, good pacing, general focus on relationship, and a great dissection of how the two communicate.
