A Surprise (Solo for now)

Timestamp: Summer 15, 512 Dex had just popped out of his entrance to the Valkalah Library for his job for the day, planning on stopping by the forest blind to drop off the days pay, and then take a nap in the den, in his very comfy fur hat. He was halfway across a rooftop on the way back to the park, when it pounced on him. Surprised, he rolled over and over before stopping and righting himself on the ground. He turned and crouched down, his back legs tense and ready to sprint away. What he saw surprised him, which generally took a lot to do. But this managed to do it just fine, especially when it dropped the thing out of it's mouth in front of Dex and then started licking his head. "This", in this case, was a winged house cat, complete with cat collar and name tag. Dex saw the name "Howlwing" etched into a black metal circle, hanging from the collar. Howlwing, had a jet black body, with silver metal colored wings, with feathers almost as soft as it's fur. Dex and Howlwing backed off a little way, where they started circling like ... well, like a ferret and a cat. Howling had its wings closed against its body. They tightened the circle slowly, letting them sniff each others various scent glands, which brought Dex to realize that Howlwing was a female cat, normal in every way except that she had wings. They stopped together, backing up and then facing face to face, slowly crawling towards each other to close the distance. They touched noses, sniffing each other slowly before rubbing their heads together a little, realizing that they had nothing to fear from each other. Dex still had his typical curious nature, and the Howlwing apparently liked him already. It didn't take long for Dex to understand that the Howlwing liked him more then the passing curiosity, which was fine with him.

Dex sniffed at the collar with his "nametag", an odd leather strap with a small bag tied on it. He looked at the bag, which was even more odd since it didn't have an opening. It did however have a note on the outside, which did not do him too much good since he couldn't read. Ducking his head under the leather strap, he slipped the collar far enough on his head to carry it, where he promptly began his journey home. Howlwing crawled up paw to paw next to him, letting him lead the way. Her wings stretched out, one casting a shadow over him momentarily before closing again against her sides and over her back. As he lead the way, Howlwing meowed noisily once when they got to the edge of the roof over the library. Dex pointedly gestured paws and nose at the ground, and walked over into the drain tube from the roof. From there he crawled and squeezed down the tube to the ground, where he shook off the little water droplets and grime on his fur. When he looked up, he saw Howlwing leap off the building stretching her wings out and gliding slowly in circles down to the ground near Dex, where they bumped heads affectionately. Than Dex lead Howlwing to her new home.
