[Thunder Bay] Thunder Island

Description: Out on the far edges of the bay, almost on the verge of being in the Storm Sea, is Thunder Island. Named as a matching pair with Thunder Bay rather than for any of its unique properties, the Island still remains largely unexplored to this day. Of course, this gives the place the mysterious appeal that calls to the danger-seeking, adventure types. Though deceivingly small from a distance, Thunder Island is actually what appear to be the remains of a volcano, long extinct. The parts of the island that has been explored seem to indicate that the volcano erupted, leaving nothing but an empty crater. Even the lava vent that would have fed this supposed volcano has yet to be found. With so little information to be found, everything about Thunder Island is estimation or a guess. Even the large conifers and other vegetation that have begun to cover the inside of the crater give no clues. Only those in possession of a sturdy boat of average size and meant for open seawaters or a Wind Eagle are even able to make it to the Island itself. With empty horizon laid out behind its towering peaks, leaving nothing to put it into perspective, it is impossible to tell at a glance how far away the island is. This in and of itself is dangerous for anyone attempting to reach the island by boat, should they become stranded. For those lucky enough to reach the shores, only one obstacle of many has been overcome. With hardly any shore to speak of, it is almost impossible to find a place to dock a boat. However, on the northern side of the island there is a small cove, almost invisible to the eye unless one knows what they are looking for. Here, boats can be pulled up onto a small rocky shore. A convenient, yet windy, path leads up into the rocks, the twists and turns making it impossible to see more than a dozen or so feet ahead. Wind Eagles and their passengers have it a bit easier. They are able to fly over the craters peaks and directly into the center of the island itself. Though the waters around the island fluctuate with the change of the seasons, the closer one gets to the island itself, the colder it gets. Wind Eagles who pass over the peaks of the crater experience this shift in temperature suddenly, which can make for dangerous flying conditions should they be caught unprepared. Within the crater itself, the Wind Eagle can land anywhere it pleases. However, there is more to the island than just plant life... NPCs: None Moderator Note: This location is currently unfinished.
