Physical Description Name : Geothryn Snowsong Race : Human, Vantha Age : 20 Birthday : Day 23, Summer, 492 AV Height : 5' 8'' Weight : 150 lbs Language : Fluent in Vani (Fluent), Versed in Common (Basic) Geothryn, commonly called Geo by those who know him, stands slightly above average, with sun browned skin and a thin build. His oily black hair is often curly, though on bad days it can be described as nappy as well. His hair has bright green, almost emerald, highlights, growing randomly from his head. His eyes are also a bright emerald color, revealing his Vantha origins as well as his highlights do. Character Concept Appearance Geothryn usually dresses himself in simple clothing, warm for the cold climate of Avanthal. Woolen slacks, shirt, and underwear are not at all uncommon. He also wears a simple woolen vest over his shirt, and most of the time when he goes out he brings with him a large black cloak. All in all, Geothryn is not a very extravagant person, and not because of lack of funds (At least, that's what he tells himself) Personality Geothryn enjoys bringing smiles to peoples' faces, be that through his charming companionship, lute-playing, singing, or storytelling. Never quick to anger, some might call him innocent or naive, but Geo believes that he just has a different view of the world. A better view. Flaws Although he might not like to admit it, Geothryn really is naive, to a fault. He often gets into trouble because he misunderstood what someone told him, or got talked into some mischief by his friends. He has a kind heart, and wants to help others, but most of the time he doesn't truly understand what sort of help they need. Ethics Geothryn always has his own best interests at heart, which usually includes others best interests as well (or instead). While he would not consider himself craven, he'd rather not be at the front lines in a battle, nor would he want to be in the battle at all (But he would, of course, if duty called). He'd probably try to find a more diplomatic means to solving the problem. Religion As a member of the Snowsong Hold, Geothryn worships Rhaus in addition to the Queen, Morwen. To Morwen he gives thanks for his gnosis which makes living in the frozen north bearable, though he does not spend every waking minute worshipping her, or practicing his Ice Reaving. For Rhaus he worships when he plays his lute, or when he sings, or when he shares his stories; for they came from him, and were made to give glory to him. Geothryn doesn't like to preach, however, and his songs aren't necessarily religious. Though mostly secular in subject, they worship Rhaus through their mere existence. Character History Geothryn was born into an older, if otherwise normal, family in the Snowsong Hold. He grew up there learning the art of music and storytelling, and it seemed the perfect match for him. He learned quickly, developing his skills with the lute and his voice, learning to spin tales into songs. When he was just ten years old his grandfather died, and his parents were already thirty-five. By the age of twenty he was left with no other family except his parents and his mother's mother, for they had no other siblings. Geo himself had two older sisters, who had married and moved in with their husbands. Heirloom His grandfather had left the family an old Shortspear, made of Cold Iron, that had etchings on the wooden pole of various tundra creatures. Marked with bright blue lettering near the head of the spear were the words "My Song is my Power, my Voice is my Strength." His father was growing old and gave the spear to Geothryn for his own protection.
