Tock snorted and laughed at the idea of 'King Nothing.' She rather enjoyed that idea. In Sunberth, people just didn't allow any one man to seize that much power. But it amused her to think of someone gaining such power, but then having everyone leave, ignoring him, so that he was left ruling over a stretch of dirt. But she became more focused again when Wart talked about working class, useful people. She became suddenly inspired, and leaned on the table, sketching an outline of the city, with multiple buildings framed with scaffolds, and workers everywhere working on building and expanding. Showing the city in a state of growth. Representing change. Having the statue represent not Zeltiva as it was now, but Zeltiva as it would one day be. Growing. Changing. Getting better. Her statue would be a testament to the future. To generations yet to come. A symbol to show the people, ALL the people, that they didn't need to fear progress and change. That they didn't need to cling to the past, and keep the city the way it was before the Djed storm. But rather, that they could grow and change and come out of that tragedy stronger, and become something better for it. When she was done, with an outline of the sketch and a long line of notes about what it all represented, she was so excited that she grabbed Wart and kissed her full on the lips. "Yer bloody brilliant, Conch!" she said, grinning wide. She might have kissed the ghost, too, for his ideas about the importance of Laviku and the city's sailors were being incorporated as a big part of her design. But, the ghost kinda freaked her out, and she wasn't quite sure if she COULD kiss a ghost... OOCI've made quite a few adjustments to the statue's design based on everything discussed here. Which is PERFECT, since that's the whole point of this thread. I had a partial design worked out in my head before this thread, but it's getting much better after being discussed IC. So thank you both! |
