Stretching northward along the coastline of the Suvan Sea, the Cobalt Mountains are the home of the Bronze Wood, numerous ruins, and creatures both strange and fantastical.

A knight, a mage knight and a murderer. [Andresciel]

3rd of Summer, 512 AV.

A fine blue sky. A few clouds off in the distance. Moving away from the two knights. It appeared it would be a mild day. With a sun cooking them in their armor. Markus gaze shifted from the sky above to the surroundings. Looking for any signs that a human had passed by in haste. One would think Markus had gotten tired of looking for signs of human activity after his quest. But nope, out in a forest again, looking for clues. He rode a powerful warhorse. The majestically looking equine beast trodding forward slowly. Markus patted the mare on the strong neck. Must be a tough life carrying around knights like Markus. Almost 300 pounds worth of man and gear. Markus turned to the other knight he had with him. He slowed the mare down so the two rode side by side.

”Seen anything?”

Markus asked the mageknight. He probably had some sort of magic vision that could aid in tracking fugitives. The two were a part of a larger group of knights. Out looking for a thief turned murderer when he had been discovered by the owner. He had fled the city and two wings had been sent out in pursuit of the man. Markus and the fellow knight were out scouting ahead of the larger group. Of course the man had headed for the cobalt mountains. Easier to throw off the knights in the mountains. Markus wore the full armor of the knights, a heater shield on his back, a bastard sword on his left thigh. A dagger a little further up than the sword. The horse carried few supplies, but it was carrying Markus’ composite shortbow on the left side and on the right, a quiver with a dozen or so arrows. It was Markus’ regular gear when he needed to be ready for combat.

Sitting atop Storm, the black NightWalker, Andre yawned. It had been a late night to be out on patrol already again. He wore the lighter armor of a Full Mage Knight, including a set of gauntlets he always wore. Strapped to his horses' saddle was a single Gladius, there for little more then decoration unless needed. His blue eyes scanned the area around him before he tilted his head. "Velenor? Do you see a trail?". His telepathic send to his familiar was returned almost instantly, "Ahead of you Friend Andre. Trail leads into Mountains.".

The Mage Knight, bringing up his arm, pointed at the left most path. "That one." He stated, kicking his feet into the side of his horse, getting an ugly look in return from his steed. "Yeah yeah. I'll treat you to some apples when we get back. Knights honor." The Mage swore, as the horse began to take him off into the mountains. A Thief turned murderer. Yeah like they really needed an expert in Reimancy to deal with this. The Knights alone could have handled him without need for the Page rushing into his sleeping chambers to disturb his three hours of sleep.

A knight, a mage knight and a murderer. [Andresciel]

Markus looked in the direction the mageknight pointed. How? What was different about that path? Markus shrugged as the mage knight rode ahead on the path. He supposed he would just have to trust the knight. Markus fell in line behind him. Perhaps not the smartest if the knight needed time to ready his magic. But on the other hand... Markus would rather be behind, rather than in front of any conjured magic. He looked at the path a head, the paths would be more and more treacherous the further into the mountains they got. They best get the man before he vanished forever.

"I hope you don't mind me asking, but, why did you become a mage?"

Markus asked outright. He had rarely been one for dilly-dallying around when he needed to know something he really wanted to know. After learning to use a sort of magic, Markus had a vested interest in learning more about djed. Learning how to effectively controlling it. Perhaps getting some tips from the mage knight. Hopefully without him learning Markus was pumping him for information. More importantly, that he learned Markus was a mage. If it could be avoided. He looked to the forest. Searching for disturbance in the wildlife. Often a sign of a man hastily making his way through the forest.
