Eridanus lay in his tent, exhausted from the day's event. It was a mixture of riding and marching, with some rest in between, and when they set up camp he had been heavily involved in helping to create the necessary wards as a contracted shielder. He had not been the primary caster of course, for the knights had their own in-house shielders for that. However, he had been one of the group shielders, and had contributed greatly in the double-checking of the shields for the presence of flaws and defects.
However, this was not the time to be slacking, for he had finally decided on setting up the third layer of protection. It had taken him days of not only reserving djed, but also of tireless thinking to figure out flaws in his current wards. He had finally decided upon a few issues that presented itself after days of brainstorming, and he would act on them now.
Sitting back up cross-legged, he offered a prayer to Wysar for the discipline and mental clarity that he would need, presenting himself and his deeds for inspection as he did so.
Exhaling deeply as he meditated, he extracted djed from his body, shaping it over his body and over the current shield, imagining the idea of multiple metal plates being sealed together at extreme temperatures. This formed the foundation of shield stacking.
