A Night On the Town The 27th of Fall 512 Syliras Mac completed his business with Soryn at the Windmount Stables and bade him farewell. He arranged for Shin'ta to be stabled and fed for three days and purchased an extra four bags of feed to take with him later. Twenty-six days in the Wildlands had left Mac in desperate need of several things, the most important being a bath, a real meal and a bed, followed perhaps by some entertainment, hopefully of the female sort. He decided to do this more or less in reverse order. He found his way to Traveler's Row where he rented a single, simple room for three nights at what he thought was a very reasonable rate. He left his gear and headed for the Rearing Stallion, where he had what he thought was an excellent lunch. It probably wasn't, but after four weeks in the wilderness, he would have thought burnt toast was an excellent lunch. On his way to the Soothing Water Bath and Massage, he stopped by clothing store and purchased three pair of wool trousers, four cotton shirts, several pair of underwear and socks, a pair of leather gloves, a pair of leather boots, a leather vest and a long heavy wool coat. At the bathhouse he paid for access to the public pool, along with a towel and soap. A few chimes later his clothes were stuffed in a locker and he was floating in the public pool. He allowed himself some unknown about of time to just float and relax. Then he tipped an attendant to scrub him down. Twice. Then he went back to the wonderfully relaxing feeling of simply floating. Mac was, for the moment, a happy man. It wouldn't last, of course. A few days of city comforts and he'd be chomping at the bit to get back out into the wilderness. But for now he was content to soak up some creature comforts. LEDGER :
