Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Nestled in the center of the city on the top tier is an area sanctioned specifically for the purpose of preserving the natural beauty inherent in the natural geography that is Riverfall. Off to the north of the Bluevein, The Knirin is a testimony to the wondrous gardening abilities of the Akalak especially in using natural native plants such as wisteria and trumpet vine.
In the center of the gardens lies Lake Knirin which is a tranquil slip of glass reflected upwards towards Zintila's glittering stars. The gardens has a massive gazebo perched on the lake that has pathways leading to smaller gazebos that all make up a community center where Riverians gather to celebrate certain festivities and to find peace in an very tumultuous world.
The light spray of mist rebounding from the Blueveins falls creates light clouds and a humid atmosphere around the “inner” half of the park. The moisture lends itself to lush pastures of rich green hues with healthy trees scattered throughout the landscape. Providing shade during the harsh summers, many trees have stone benches and matching tables under them. Here and there the topsides of rocks emerge upwards from the grass which serve as seats for some and shelves for others.
For that matter, the entire gardens are used for different purposes. Some can be found meditating in the sunlight, others pray by rock formations, children run and use sticks to hone their sword skills, adults sleep in the shade, others enjoy the calmer waters and still more observe those around them. Akalak can be found adding more cobalt colors to the scenery as they train with weapons and for strength, running and developing themselves for what their race needs. More than just Akalak inhabit the Knirin Gardens, though, as it never fails to bring in visitors to the city who have not yet become accustomed to the incredible sights and sounds Riverfall has to offer. Standing on the grass and looking out over the edge down toward the Suvan Sea and the lower section of the city inspires most and tests other’s nerves.
The Knirin Gardens mean many things to different people and offer a variety of opportunities to many others. The one thing that it means for everyone who visits, however, is a tranquil setting where truths can be found and dangers lurk plainly visible in the concealing setting. |
