Soren Alderos Con Artist Overview Basic Information Race: Human Birthday & Age : Season of Summer, Day 15, 491 AV Gender: Male Physical Description Standing at a mere 5' 6", Soren is by no means an intimidating figure, and borders on being outright scrawny. He keeps most of his raven hair in long twin ponytails which trail down his back, but he lets the hair framing his face fall where it will. His piercing red eyes never fail to draw notice, nor does the mark upon his forehead. Konti may recognize the mark as being the symbol of a man deemed "unfit for mating". Character Concept Soren might have been regarded as "strange" regardless of just which culture he was raised in. He can sometimes be prone to speaking in circles or making jumps in logic which he cannot proceed to explain. In addition, he experiences mood swings, seemingly at random. In spite of this, most who engage in conversation with the young man will find him possessed of quick wits and a great deal of intelligence. The Human has never had formal learning, but it does not stop him from exercising his abilities. He is quietly loyal to his best friend, Zane Felix, who grew up protecting him. Like Zane, he grows ever less comfortable with their predicament daily, and he hopes that if a way out can ever be found, he might be allowed to change. He hates Konti culture as a whole, and this hatred is spread to include all Konti with it. They are the reason he and Zane cannot find work. They are the reason he and Zane are prisoners in a city in spite of a lack of iron bars, cell keys, or prisoner outfits.

Soren Alderos Con Artist Details Backstory Soren has never known "better days". His father was a rich merchant who moved to Mura with Soren in tow, his mother having died during childbirth. Believing himself to have his son's best interests at heart, his father tried to raise the young Soren to be an educated, well-respected male amongst the Konti culture. The only memories the Human has of his mother are fond ones, and her bagpipes were passed on to him. Growing up, Soren never outright objected to the expectations placed upon him, but he found ways to rebel against the system into which he was being pressed. He could never be bothered to study for school, finding anything beyond the skills of reading and core mathematics to be impractical to anything which interested him. His eccentricities, along with the sheer fact that he lived in a culture where more than 98 percent of the population was Konti, where Konti were given priority in most things, made him unable to fit in with "normal" society. So he found a friend in the other two percent of the population. Zane Felix would prove to have something of a "corrupting influence" on the boy as the two grew up. When Zane was publicly ousted as being an "unfit male", Soren, then 17, decided that he would join his friend in social ostracism. He took to pickpocketing, gambling, and scamming, usually with Zane's help on the last two counts. It did not take the Konti seers long to catch on. When Soren's father - an honest, hard-working businessman - found out, his wrath was even more than the young man might have anticipated. In addition to having him denounced as being unfit, his father proceeded to have the declaration branded onto Soren's forehead. The wicked mark upon the young man's forehead is the result. If the Konti disapproved, they said nothing. The duo that was Soren and Zane have spent the last pair of years looking for a way off the isle of Mura...
