A water mage and a wolverine walk into a lighthouse....

This northernmost city is the home of Morwen, The Goddess of Winter, and her followers who dwell year round in a land of frozen wonder. [Lore]
A cold front blew in across the Port of Avanthal, tugging playfully at the end of scarves and whipping up flurries of snowflakes scattered around the city. The wind seemed much like an eager child in its manners, but people seemed to ignore the mood, just focusing upon the cold. Something sobering and somber hung in the air, like a threat not fully realized, and the Kelvic that stood on the third floor of Frostpoint Lighthouse tried to smell whatever mystery lay in the air. All she got was the tang of salt and a snowflake up her nose that caused her to sneeze.
She coughed and cleared her throat, dark eyes mesmerized by the ebb and flow of the dark water before her. She was cold, but relatively comfortable, even if this spot did pull in a lot of wind and sea spray. She studied the icy rocks in earnest, then after a time fixed her gaze upon the uncertain horizon line far off in the depths of the sea.
She reveled in the relative silence, and let her mind clear. She hadn't gotten much chance to breath since returning to the city, the Icewatch had put her right to work, but they were not so cold as to release their charges for a day or so to relax and let loose. Of course Sliver wasn't one for drinks and stories like the Vantha, so instead she found herself out here on the edge of the city, watching the waves.
The soft back and forth motion of the sea was calming, Veizor standing right outside of the water's limit, looking onward with the chill breeze sweeping through his surroundings. He did not feel much cold, by the side-effects of Morwen's affection. He still had his regular attire on, but without them he would still not feel much. It was a blessing indeed, just to see the ice in a different light and to embrace snow and other Morwen creations with more love than before felt great. Of course, these powers could not be abused nor used lightly or in the wrong way.
Just enjoying the scenery was a great past-time for the young Vantha, taking a break from the day's activities to have some time to himself. Of course, he always loved company and storytelling with reckless abandon, but there was always times of self-meditation and inner peace that were required. This is when his thoughts roamed to different places, like his studies, the problems of the hold or Avanthal in general, and the way he carried himself across the village. A respectable individual was his goal, but maybe his spontaneous comments and outward appearance of unstable composure was hindering such aspirations.
"Cannot be my fault that I think out loud, with over-bearing friendliness and characteristic Vantha flair, is it?" He thought to himself, the light house illuminating on his back, the glint of his sword-breaker seen as a moment later it died as quick as it came to sight.
Her reverie was broken by a slight sound drifting into her ears from below. At first she thought she had imagined the noise, the wind was whipping about her, the crashing of waves upon rocks creating a thrum of underlying noise that her senses had to peel back to access whatever new information lay underneath.
No, there it was again, faint because of distance, but definitely there: Footsteps on icy snow. Sliver leaned out over the railing to glimpse a shadowy figure looking out over the water below. She tried to smell them, get a whiff of their scent, but too many conflicting smells crossed over to confuse her. There was something slightly perturbing at having her place of solitude found out, and her nose crinkled with annoyance. She leaned back, trying to drift back into her thought, but her concentration was minimal and most animals liked to keep an eye on those in their vicinity, she was no different.
Notes: This was very short but from the title of the thread, I think it would have turned into a wonderful action or adventure thread. Have I told you already that I like this title?
Moving on, it’s nice to see Sliver escape the bustle of Icewatch duties every once in a while. It reminds me that Sliver is still just a person after all, despite being such an awesome warrior woman. I really hoped this progressed more, but I guess that would be asking too much on my part.

Notes: Wow, hi Veizor, another Coolwater! It’s unfortunate I do not see you around any more, but it would have been nice to have another Vantha who was not a Snowsong or a Frostfawn. Anyway, I was not able award much aside from the ones I gave you because you were only able to write one post. However, I gave you all that I saw.
