Name: Born Adam Kingston, shortened in practice to Adam King Race: Human Age: 24 Birthday: 488 AV, unknown that it is on the 22nd day of Summer Physical Description Adam is of average height and weight, with wide shoulders and a relaxed but determined demeanour. Longish dark hair lines his face, full with a beard and sideburns. Moustaches come and go across King's face, and the beard can be anything from a full beard to a sharp goatee. The hair length, though never short, also often shifts. Bronze earrings are visible from under the hair as they adorn each ear, but these too are oft forgotten off. When heading out to potential danger (most work days), the earrings also stay home. Thugs can't wait to have something to yank off an ear. Green eyes with long eyelashes adjoin a very expressive configuration under the thick eyebrows onto a face with full lips and round features. Adam can go from the ragged messy look to a prim proper one and back with relative ease, doing so to adapt to varied contexts. Thin line between hedonistic scum and versed scholar. He's usually found wearing his father's trenchcoat-like leather suit whenever out on business. The finest observers can notice the punching knife always waiting in his right black boot. Character Concept Adam's a street rat, a witty and capable rat but ultimately one of the many Sunberth has to offer. His in-your-face style is a defense mechanism educated by the streets meant to cover any deeper emotion and keep safe. He doesn't take kindly to any type of absolute or dogmatic belief, be it divine or towards some for authority. While gods and kings may be real, he is not one to make them any more real by awknoledging their right to higher claims. While conceptually Adam has great respect for the concept of property, street life has withered away his reluctance at appropriating the assets of others, though he will avoid theft if possible. As well, he prefers not to kill, especially not those he percieves as innocents. Passionate about sweet-scented alcohol, exciting adrenaline-filled evenings and the company of another are the only better items for consumption. Character History Adam Kingston grew up in Sunset Quarter's Orphanage. His life was a bit better than the other kids' as the 'coated man', Mr. Kingston as the grown-ups called him, would often visit him, bringing treats and offering advice and play. This attention would of course iredeemably attract the spite of the other children, and keeping the gifts he received and avoiding ostracisation within the Orphanage's micro-society would often prove impossible. Change came within the situation when Adam, around age 10, instead learned to share his gifts with a few of the bigger boys so as to be afforded... protection. Learning that his visitor was in fact some sort of relative, Adam refused the offer the coated man made at his 16-year-old "graduation" from the Orphanage to take on the Kingston name - a trademark name among traders - and instead, in some degree of spite and some of recognition, only called himself Adam "King" from that day on. He only asked for one thing, to erase all blood debts: the coat, and to never see this Kingston again. The offer accepted, Adam went on to work any and all odd jobs, especially the buying and selling of items, finding buyers and sellers, a lot of his activity revolving around fencing stolen or otherwise problematic products. Stealing, and killing a higher-ups-targeted mark on one ocasion, were not excluded. Some capital in his pocket and connections made, Adam carefully awaits the opportunity to make more of himself, to be more free by being more powerful.
