Left for Dead - Small Cove

Sighing she started to nod off when it stuck her, wait he didn't say her name did he. Trying to remember, she knew at that point she would have died to snuggle with him and just rest in his arms. Maybe she was just loopy, but at this point she didn't care. Remembering once again she whispered what she heard,

"I'll be about the ship all night, so if you need anything let me know. I have a waterskin if you would like, but first I think it's most important for you to get some rest. Good night, Leisa."

He hadn't said Lireal, he had said Leisa... was she hurting him by flirting. She was so confused and so tired, she couldn't think straight and the bed was so comfy, she would ask him tomorrow.

Either way she still wanted him, but she felt a pang of guilt now... why she had no idea.

Left for Dead - Small Cove

Postby Kirvan Deepseeker on September 24th, 2012, 2:34 am

It took five whole minutes for Kirvan to untie each bowline knot. That was record-breaking time; never had any Svefra spent so long to undo such an essential knot. Maybe he was thinking more about Leisa than he was willing to admit. Two years and he still couldn't stop thinking about her. But what about Lireal reminded him of her? They were very different people: while Leisa seemed easygoing and find something to smile about, Lireal's past appeared so miserable that she couldn't look past that. He would help if he could, but only she could decide whether to let him. All in due time, he supposed.

Maneuvering the casinor so that it could glide out of the cove was a bit tricky and required quite a bit of swimming and pushing off rocks, but finally the boat was aimed at the exit and Kirvan pulled himself dripping back onto the deck. He'd come in with the intention to just relax for a night, and now he was rushing back in the other direction with a rare sense of urgency. How fate liked to play games with him. As the boat slid back out onto the sea, he was relieved to find out that the wind had died down slightly so he wouldn't be forced backwards so much when he tacked. Tightening the starboard jibsheet and holding the main sail in as he eased the casinor out into a close haul with the wind, trying to cut down on time by going out to sea and minimizing the number of times he had to tack. It briefly crossed his mind that he needed a new spare sail now. As he returned to the body of Laviku's realm, his instincts took over and everything that had happened with Lireal sort of faded into the back of his mind.

A few minutes later, some squeaking alerted him to the presence of a beluga whale in the darkness to his port side. Looking over the left of the boat, Kirvan saw his buddy Ster swimming alongside the boat, squeaking a question. "Hey Ster," the Svefra greeted. "Yeah, I wasn't expecting to leave so soon either, but things have happened in the cove and I need to get back to Syliras. Sorry you didn't get a full night's rest. I found this lady in the cove, and she needs attention as soon as possible."

More squeaks. "I don't know who she is exactly, she wasn't in a good condition to talk. Tell you what, you can meet her when she wakes up." Whistling and clicking his approval, Ster went under the boat and helped slightly by nudging it in the right direction. Kirvan was grateful for the whale's company: he had his boat, his tavan, the wind, and Laviku's great domain. It was everything that was familiar, and distracted him from what troubles may lie ahead. As Leth's shining brilliance cast over the young man, Kirvan was happy to just do what he was used to, forgetting what strange events had transpired and his fate which was being tossed about like a bottle in a storm.

Notes:
Since you asked for my opinion on your writing -- Your writing is good, and I appreciate the details you put in. Not only does this garner you more XP, but it also allows the reader to get a better insight as to what's going on. You had a couple of mistakes (such as missing punctuations marks), but I'm going to assume that was just carelessness on your part.
The spontaneity in this thread made it a refreshing read. It would be interesting to know what happens next between them. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to PM me!
