Appearance
While the sky is Syna’s to command Seleucus is bound in the mortal form of a young man. If one asked him to descibe himself in one word he most likely would choose plain. His brunnette chin length hair skirts the line between wavy and curly, staunchly refusing to be anything but in a permanent state of dishevelment. The boy seems to be no more than eighteen or twenty, though his bright blue eyes hold the gleam of a much older and experienced soul. Seleucus is of a skinny, lanky build; standing just over 5’10” in height and all boney, gangly limbs. He has a round face and a long nose with a small mouth often caught in a state of deep thought or melancholy. He is of mixed human descent in this form, part Drykas part Svefra.
As Leth rises in the heavens a profound change takes place over Seleucus. Long ribbed horns branch from his temples and sweep back. Once untamable hair straightens and grows long until it stops just short of his shoulders. His face grows more pointed and his jawline and cheekbones become noticeably defined. The bold, expressive eyebrows of the day, so suited to being scrunched in thought, tighten into thin arches above the eyes. Seleucus’ irises fade from their diurnal blue to the pale silver of mercury. Blemishes, imperfections, and coloring melt away, revealing skin that appears carved of pearly moonstone that seems to shimmer in the moonlight. His figure fill out, losing the sense of borderline manhood in exchange for a more statuesque build; shoulders and chest broadening slightly, musculature hidding away boney angles to become a supple and lean frame, he also gains several inches topping out at 6’1”. Overall he gives the impression of some idyllic marble sculpture brought to life for the night by a fantastical enchantment. Seleucus’ hair and horns change hue with the seasons, and bleed into each other during the last and first week of their respective season. The colors are listed here;
Spring-Hair: Lavender gray, Horns: White with a pearl sheen
Summer-Hair: Jet black, Horns: Jade green
Autumn-Hair: Ruddy golden-orange of harvest moons and falling leaves, Horns: pale ivory yellow
Winter-Hair: Snow white, Horns: Deep violet, almost black.
Character Concept
Seleucus is a thoughtful and somewhat introverted individual. He is a pondering something at nearly every moment and can often overthink things. His time in the heavens have lent him a deep understanding of the nature of his own soul, however, and he uses it to his best advantage to maintain a level of calm and self-control in even the most stressful and demanding of situations. Living amongst the gods has also made his return to mortality that much harder. He misses Leth from the deepest profundity of his soul and a sense of loss and dolorousness stains the world around him. Seleucus is practical though, and remains hopeful that he can give this life on the mortal plain as much meaning as his time with his divine lord, whom he loved so greatly. Seleucus puts his mind to use, being extremely creative and imaginative, and combined with his intellectual nature can formulate efficient and beautiful solutions to many a complex problem that confronts him, be it work or life.
The sense of efficiency, beauty, and simplicity Seleucus's values are one and the same. He wishes to apply it to the world and impart some small degree of the essence he can recall from his heavenly life. This elegant practicality is applied even to his clothing; he wears plain black pants with a multitude of of pockets for storage, a simple white tunic,durable brown leather boots, and a crimson scarf to add a touch of color and keep out the cold when necessary. His clothing may seem baggy on his human shape during the day, sometimes even having to be rolled up, but becomes form-fitting and just long enough for his night form. Seleucus is also partial to tying back his hair in his Ethaefal shape to keep his longer hair out of his eyes, pulling it back into a ponytail when he is thinking or working.

Character History
Shortly after dusk on the 60th day of spring 506, a small brilliant fleck was seen plummeting towards the sea less than a mile off the coast of Denval. This fleck was none other than the celestial spirit of the Ethaefal that would come to be known as Seleucus. The water’s surface splintered into a thousand glittering shards as the fallen spirit, having slipped through the rent in Leth’s realm, tore into it at what should have been lethal speed. As he sank into the depths the newly enfleshed man pined for Leth with what he thought was his last moments. Where is he? he thought, What is happening to me? was the next moments cogitation. The dim twilight that managed to penetrate into the water began to fade as the newborn being started to drown. Suddenly a mass of thin twisting strands swirled down around him and yanked him forcefully upwards.
As it turned out the strands had been ropes of a net belonging to a boatful of fishermen. Late to the harbour that evening, the crew had spotted the explosive splash of the Ethaefal’s crash landing. After coming in closer to inspect what was happening they had spotted a silhouette sinking into the depths and hastily fished it out. Upon dredging up the drowning creature they found it was a strange thing, battered and bruised, devoid of even a stitch of clothing, and with long horns arching from his temples. One crewmember put forth it was an Ethaefal based on one such being he had seen many years past. As soon as the proposed heavenly crashlander was clothed in spare sailor’s garb and had regained enough of his senses to speak the captain began to launch questions at him. It began with “What’s yer name”, which pretty much halted the interrogation as the stranger began to desperately attempt to recreate the music of the celestial spheres, resulting in nothing more than dissonant mess of sound. This was repeated for nigh on an hour, before realizing that attempts to verbalize his name were futile, he settled on the name given to one the craters that pockmarked Leth’s astronomic body, Seleucus.
The still utterly confused and newly christened Seleucus was brought in with ship to the harbour where a predicament became apparent, no one wanted to take the stranger from the sea into their homes, but he had to go somewhere. Messengers where sent by the captain throughout Denval to seek out someone willing to take in this odd personage and house him. Before the last chime of the night, an old man was found. He was a local magecrafter and willingly made the offer to lodge Seleucus. As it turned out the old man’sname was Polumetis, and in he in his old age longed for someone to spend time with. Seleucus was still rather unsure of what exactly was going on, and needed the guidance of someone wise and knowledgeable about a wide variety of subjects, in short they were perfect for each other.
After settling in at Polumetis’ modest but comfortable abode Seleucus passed into a deep slumber. He awoke shortly after the 13th bell of the day and rose, only to find everything felt a little bit, well, odd. Looking down and expecting it to be nothing more than the obviously incurred bruising, he was shocked to find he wasn’t looking at him! Instead of the shimmering white legs he had seen last night a pair of skinny and battered knees coloured light brown where it showed through the bruises. In a mad rush Seleucus dashed through the house to find someone find his own legs. Luckily, he managed to bump into Polumetis who recalled and explained that during the time of day where their patron god did not rule the sky Ethaefal reverted to a mortal form. No longer distressed though still in a state of shock, Seleucus and the old man settled down for a long chat.
In the following days and weeks, Polumetis brought Seleucus up to speed on the modern world. He also quizzed Seleucus on what he could remember from his past lives. While in the shape of an Ethaefal Seleucus could remember multiple lives, not a single one was ever clearer than haze of fuzzy recollections, mortal or not. He did however managed to remember that his day shape’s heritage was that of a young man part Drykas part Svefran. After several monthes the old man made the decision to show Seleucus his workshop. It was a wonderland of strange objects enchanted or not. And while Selucus watched a particularly powerful memory cam back to him, that of working in a room not too dissimilar from the one in which Polumetis labored.
Discussing this reminiscence with Polumetis they came to the conclusion that Seleucus had once been an apprentice in magecraft before his release from the cycle of death and rebirth by Leth. It was decided Polumetis, having no heirs would pass the secret of his craft down to Seleucus. Five years of training in the ways of manipulating djed to preform auristic observations, glyph, and imbue objects with it ensued. All the while the young lad and the elder man grew to be like father and son. Eventually though all good things must come to an end. In the summer of 510 Polumetis passed, leaving Seleucus alone in the world again. In his mourning Seleucus often gazed at the moon wondering if all his most beloved people, Leth and Polumetis must be lost to him. A profound urge welled up in him, he wanted more than ever to be close to Leth again. Remembering a tale Polumetis had to told him of the city of Lhavit, where you were as close to Syna, Leth, and Zintila as you could be on the mortal plane. By the end of that summer Seleucus packed up his belongings and set out for the journey to the Diamond of Kalea. He met with a ship of Svefra and set out from the very docks he had arrived from.
