Tourmal, Summer 23, 510 AV “When I was young I visited Anhatep with my parents. They are jewelers, metal smiths, and gem cutters. The jewelry there is unbelievable. Much more intricate than most ours here in Cyphrus.” As he said so he envisioned the deep blues of the saphires and greens of emeralds of a few pieces he had witnessed on his few visits. “Riverfall too but most have, A bunch of blue men who make their own weapons... not much use for a male smith there.” The Watch, he had guessed as much but wanted to hear her say it. “TheWatch.” the man said before stuffing his mouth with another helping of food, as he chewed he lifted a finger to tell Jasper he was not finished. “So do you mind me asking who is your favorite champion?” He continued to eat his mountain of food, shoveling it into his mouth as she replied. “I feel the same about marriage” Having just found his calling in smithing he figured that he had plenty of time to settle down and start a family, at least a few years, or until he could set up his own business where he did. “For now I will work on making weapons.” By this time he had eaten half the food on his plate. He was starting to feel the effects of what he had eaten already but felt that he could finish the meal. He remembered how before him not eating had lead to a catastrophe. So he would not make that mistake again. “So what would it take for you to settle down?” Hoping he had not overstepped his bounds with his last question. Though not enough to show it for his focus was back to the food. The green eyed man had nearly finished his meal and was feeling very full. He could not finish what was left and chose to keep from doing so. He pushed his plate away from him a few inches and leaned back slightly to give his stomach some extra room to make space for the mountain he had just consumed. As he polished off his mug of ale he let out a long “Ahhh” in satisfaction of his meal. Feeling much more refreshed now he looked at Jasper and wondered if one day he would end with a woman like her. After a few chimes, “Do you want to start heading to where ever you wanted to spar?” he said raising his eyebrows. “Lead the way”. |

"Do the people in Ahnatep really have more than two arms?" Jasper asked excitedly, biting into the cheese and chewing vigorously. "I've been to Riverfall a few times." She said after swallowing. "I like the Aklak though, they were very charming."
"My favorite champion would have to be Acele Swiftblade. Or maybe The Dark Axe, he is very handsome and especially mysterious." She smiled slightly, thinking about the few times she had run into them both as she watched Tourmal eat and took another bite of her own food. "Do you have any favorites?"
Jasper stared at Tourmals plate in surprise. Despite the fact that Jas had bought considerably less food than him he was still managing to beat her. Jasper swallowed a mouthful of ale before starting on her meat.
At his next question Jasper leaned back, thinking carefully before answering.
"Well, for starters there is no way I'd put up with being added to a line of wives, if I'm to be married then it won't be just so that i will simply have children and nothing else." Sighing at her little tirade Jasper blushed slightly. "Aside from that its really just the basics; they'd have to be strong enough to provide for me whilst with child, supportive, kind. It would be nice if i could marry for love as well..." She trailed off, looking down at her nearly finished food.
Using her teeth, Jasper pulled the last of her meat from the bone and swallowed it with the last of her ale. Standing she stretched her arms above her head and nodded to Tourmal in agreement. As she began walking she glanced at him. "I don't have anywhere in particular in mind so i guess we'll just find a large enough clearing." Walking with long strides it wasn't long before they came across a sizable patch of unused grass. Glancing around Jasper paced in a circle before turning back to Tourmal. "This should be good enough." She said, smiling broadly as excitement found her again.

Tourmal, Summer 23, 510 AV “Yes some four some six, I hear they can be quite entrancing while dancing. I never did get to see for myself.” Tourmal nodded his head in response to her remark about the Aklak. “Acele.” There had been many a time when Tourmal had thought about Acele. Not in a combative sort of way thought rather one involving a much more sensual experience. However no matter what he did he could not bring himself to talk to the woman for fear of losing his manhood. Her and Chani had long ago caught his eye, and far surpassed his mettle. The man respected them, yes however he also feared them and preferred to keep all of his members intact. Mysterious hmm... he could be mysterious. Some people already thought so. Only those who had never approached him though. “Can't say that I do” maybe some day I will be my own favorite. Ha!” the man laughed at the thought. Him as a champion. As he turned his green eyes onto Jasper “What do you think? Do you think they would ever let a hammer wielder into the champions?” The girls answers to his personal questions he affronted her with interested him much more than his previous thoughts. Her remark of how one would need to be able to provide for her, made Tourmal realize in his own incapability of such things. Had only he spent more time working on hunting and self-defense. Oh well. That is what he was about to accomplish wasn't it. As they left the tables to find a clearing his stomach gurgled, digesting the food he had just consumed. He paid no mind to it and kept walking on. Looking down and to his side laying eyes on the girl named of stone he thought to himself... one day, one day sure enough. When she stopped he looked up and was they were in a clearing. He saw a grin upon her face and knew she greatly enjoyed sparring not just for work but for fun. Practice was one thing, but finding pleasure in it was another. She would someday join the ranks of the Champions if she kept her love for it. “Aye seems so” Tourmal withdrew his hammer from his side and swung it a few times to loosen his joints in preparation for the ensuing practice battle. His movements were smoothe however there was no use for them if he had used them in battle he would be cut to pieces in seconds. This he had no clue of though. He gave his waist a few twists from side to side and took a stance he thought felt sturdy enough and awaited her attack. He surely could fend off whatever attempts she would make, the girl was nearly half his size. He figured he would use this time for a nice bit of light exercise. As he looked across to his opponent he stared directly into Jasper's eyes for a few seconds as if to say bring it on. Soon afterward he gave her a wink “Ready” he said smirking wryly. |

Jasper tilted her head to the side, considering him as she answered. He certainly looked the part; tall, broad shouldered, handsome. "I don't see why not, they let an axeman in after all." She replied smiling at him.
Watching him as he prepared himself with his hammer, Jasper tried to figure out his fighting style. She drew her sword, eyes spanning down the blade quickly, looking for any marks of dirt or grime that could distract her eye during the fight. Satisfied that the Tulwar was perfectly clean she rolled her shoulders a few times before settling into position, rocking up onto the balls of her feet whilst keeping her knees bent. She had to be able to move quickly in order to avoid his hammer and to get close, so that he wouldn't be able to swing the heavy weapon as efficiently.
Her eyes fixed on him, practically glowing with excitement and she smiled, the curve of her lips more of a baring of teeth than an expression of happiness. At Tourmals word Jasper immediately darted forward, hoping to surprise him. Her sword was clasped lightly in both hands, the curved tip aimed directly at her opponent. She jabbed the blade forward, aiming for the space between his arm and his side, simultaneously keeping an eye on his hammer, ready to dart away if he got to close.

Tourmal, Summer 23, 510 AV Tourmal was slightly flattered when she said he could be a champion. He was far from that ability though and it would take quite a bit of determination to become so. Something he had not yet aquired for battle. The green eyed man watched as the girl prepared for the fight. She inspected her blade meticulously looking for something, Tourmal unsure what it was. When she decided that it was fit for use she dropped into her stance. The girl looked ready to pounce at any moment and when the man spoke she sprung forward swiftly closing the distance between the two. Tourmal was impressed by her speed, so much that he unknowingly shifted his weight to his heels and as she jabbed forward he stumbled backward losing his footing and fell to his backside. Somewhat embarrassed, the smith attempted to regain his footing and get back to his feet he shifted his weapon uneasily to his left hand as he used his right to stagger backwards and put some space between the two of them again. Afterward he pushed himself up with his right hand and stood this time shifting his right foot back slightly hoping he would not repeat the mistake he made earlier. His face was flush and yet word the smirk he had on his face before. First due to his embarrassment later then in realization of her impressive attack. The mans stance was still far from perfect though would give him a better chance to maneuver however he would require much more training from someone much more capable than he. As he set himself in his footing he shifted his weight forward this time readying himself to attack this time. This was far more different than bedding women. However if he became good enough he could use his prestige to impress them. His eyes betrayed him with a glint of mischief signaling his awaiting attack. With a few steps he closed the distance between them and swung his hammer lightly laterally towards her head in attempts to get her to duck. Tourmal knew she was better than he but not how much yet and wished to see how much so. After the swing toward her head he attempted a combination attack at her feet to sweep them out from under her with his haft. His speed and grace were lacking significantly and onlookers would see a bumbling giant swatting clumsily at a bee. He had seen this maneuver before from his old sparring buddy at the Works and ineptly put it to use here. |

Jasper ducked the hammer as it swung towards her head and was wondering what he was doing, going for such an obvious attack when her feet were knocked out from underneath her. She pushed herself back up quickly, her cheeks burning in embarrassment. As she thought back on his actions she realised that his intent should have been obvious and that she hadn't been paying enough attention.
Jasper held back for a moment, studying the man for a moment to try and get a feel for his actions. It was obvious that he did not spare often but Jas expected that her unfamiliar movements also made it obvious that she had never fought anyone wielding a hammer before.
Closing with her opponent once again, Jasper swiped her blade at the man's wrist, attacking with the flat of the blade in place of the razor sharp edge.

Tourmal, Summer 23, 510 AV Tourmal's slow imprecise movements were displayed as the woman ducked under his first attack with ease. As the haft of his hammer swept the woman's feet from under her Tourmal was pleased with himself. He had expected her to jump over it just as easily as she had ducked. With this, his estimate of the twos levels evened out more so than what it was at first. She still maintained the advantage though. As the woman sized him up he did so back wondering what she would do next. She probably sparred more than he but his size and strength in combat could aid him. Or so he thought. The only problem was that he did not know how to use it to his advantage. Just then she stepped forward and swatted the mans wrist with the flat of her blade. Tourmal not accustomed to the pain of such attacks dropped his hammer instinctively and brought his hand in holding it with his left. “Ouch!” Great now how would he get the weapon back without losing his head. Had this been a real fight he would be done for. Oh well. Tourmal looked at the weapon as it lay at his feet splitting his attention between his opponent and his weapon. He decided to kick the weapon away. As he stood up straight and did so kicking it a few yards away he out-stretched his hand. “Good job.” Waiting for her to respond likewise. Hopefully to her surprise just before they clasped hands he would grab her wrist and pull her to the ground and sprint to his weapon to resume the fight. |

Jasper smirked triumphantly as Tourmal drooped his hammer and raised her sword in excitement. She felt slightly sorry for having hurt him but her satisfaction outweighed the feeling greatly.
She readied herself for her next attack, realising that her fighting style was quite boring and repetitive and nothing like the lethal dances that the champions often displayed.
Jasper raised an eyebrow as he kicked away his weapon, wondering what he was doing until he straightened and held out his hand. Brows raised Jasper relaxed her stance, letting the curved tip of her blade drop until it hovered over the dusty ground.
"Giving up?" She asked playfully as she reached out her hand to clasp his, just before their palms touched his hand shot forward and grabbed her wrist, pulling her down. Jasper sneezed as dust rushed up her nose and her eyes snapped open to see him turning to sprint for his hammer. Dropping her Tulwar, Jasper forward, still on her stomach, and grabbed his ankle, aiming to pull him down as well.

Tourmal, Summer 23, 510 AV When he heard her sneeze he thought for sure that he was home free and would recover his weapon. Then suddenly his head was approaching the ground rather quickly. As the man fell he put his right hand out to cushion his fall. After hitting the ground he rolled to his right and looked back to the girl latched onto his ankle. He was impressed by her quick reactions. As he looked at her he noticed she was weaponless and decided to keep himself as so resorting to wrestling. Tourmal had no real experience wrestling besides with his twin brother a few times that and watching some of the matches at the yearly games. This is where his weight advantage would come into play. Tourmal kicked free of her hand and stood as he did before. His legs a few inches past shoulder width apart his right slightly further back. Though the stance was nowhere near perfect it was better used in wrestling than in a battle of weapons. When the Jasper had regained her footing he wasted no time in reaching for her left leg trying to grab hold eventually ending with the two on the ground. His reach gave him quite the advantage but he didn't realize that yet. His first attempt in doing so failed as she shifted her weight to her right and pulled her left back out of the way. He would have to be quicker or get in closer. As the two circled each-other taking turns in swiping at each-others legs Tourmal subtly inched forward with every exchange closing the gap. After he was about five inches closer he shot forward for her leg and wrapped his arms around it. Sadly after this, he really didn't know what to do. Slightly embarrassed at this fact, he quickly realized that he was holding the upper thigh of a girl that he was attracted to and hadn't even known it. He then let go thinking about the entanglement to himself. Very Nice! After letting go he backed up and scratched the back of his head looking down and away from her smiling in embarrassment face flushed he said “Sorry 'bout that.” |

Jasper gave a 'Ha!' of triumph as Tourmal fell. As he rolled to look back at her she realised what a bad choice she had made. She was no good at wrestling, and her opponent was nearly twice her size! What on earth could she do, besides dodge as much as she could.
Pushing herself onto her feet Jasper watched carefully, rocking forward onto her toes as she tried to figure out what to do. There was no way she could go at him head on, he'd have her on her back in minutes!
She dodged quickly as she came at her, reaching for her leg. She kicked at him, short and sharp, more for defence rather than offence but missed as well.
Crap. She yelped in surprise as he grabbed her leg, nearly throwing her off balance. Trying to keep from falling over she grabbed the front of his shirt in on hand and his, large shoulder with the other. Blushing Jasper took in their position and tried not to think about how it would look to someone watching their fight.
He let go of her and she looked up at him carefully taking in his expression as she let go of him. He looked thoughtful, as he backed away and Jasper wondered what he was thinking about.
"Oh, its fine. Erm, sorry for... grabbing you." She stumble over her words, taking a step back and twisting her fingers behind her back.
