Flashback Impromptu Instruction (Jasper)

[Tourmal Firemane]

Tourmal, Summer 23, 510 AV “I did didn't I?” He smiled flirting merely for fun the girl was harmless and he would not take her flirtatious attitude seriously. He looked at her stance as she put her weight on the balls of her feet. When she made another comment his attention was pulled back to her face where a wry grin sat. She then lunged forward extending her arm at his head with her sword at the forefront. She however was very quick and he had to duck quickly otherwise his head would have been a piece of meat on the skewer that was her tulwar. Doing so he lost his balance again and had to take a few steps backward. Even though he had plenty of openings before now there wasn't a single defensible spot on him.

As Tourmal stumbled back out of range of her sword, Jasper cursed. She had been attempting to use his earlier tactics against him and it seemed that he had been able to avoid them with nothing but pure luck.

Huffing Jasper took a few steps back and resumed a defensive position, looking for any openings whilst simultaneously waiting for him to make the next move.

Tourmal, Summer 23, 510 AV Despite him being completely open she relented her quick assault and refrained from continuing. She stepped back seeing his imbalance as having thwarted her efforts. He didn't understand why she did so but oh well maybe she just wanted to make use of a specific combination of moves. Not being able to must have disconcerted her. The woman took a defensive posture readying herself for an advance from the large male. He could see no openings and felt his attacks would not make it past her defenses. He advanced slowly inch by inch until he was close enough for the two's weapons to strike each other. Then he took a step in and swung for her shoulder. She would have to block this or she would likely be injured. But he knew she could do it. She might even surprise him with something better.

Seeing Tourmals hammer swinging toward her shoulder Jasper raised her sword and braced it against her fore arm in order to take the full brunt of his blow. He was far stronger than her and the impact jarred her arm slightly. Grimacing at the odd feeling she pushed his hammer away and retaliated with a quick jab towards his stomach, following up with another, just as quick, to his head.

Jasper was starting to become tired, what with the small wrestling match they had had earlier and their sparring session. Wondering if Tourmal was feeling the same she studied his movements for any signs but could see none, whether because he wasn't tired or because she was simply bad at reading people she did not know.

Tourmal, Summer 23, 510 AV When the younger drykas blocked his blow she quickly retaliated with a two successive attacks. Her first toward his gut forced the man to recede his torso while simultaneously leaning his shoulders forward. His weight was on his toes and he was wide open. The second equally as quick toward his head had him by surprise. Others in this occasion would duck and sweep the legs. However Tourmal was not others neither was his footwork or evasion abilities up to the task. He was still slow and cumbersome. As the strike came close all he could do was close his eyes and wince at what was to come.

Realizing how close she was coming to hitting him Jasper hurriedly pulled her arm back, making her stumble slightly. Crap, that was close. she scolded herself, taking a few steps back. "Sorry 'bout that!" she exclaimed, laughing nervously. "Maybe we should finish up for today, before one of us is hurt!"

Sheathing her sword Jasper her her hand out to Tourmal, waiting for him to shake it. "Thanks for helping me out though, maybe we could do it again sometime?" She asked hopefully, smiling.

Tourmal, Summer 23, 510 AV The man's eyes stayed shut in anticipation of the oncoming strike the man kept them close for what seemed like forever. He figure the reason time seemed to have nearly stopped was because of his impending death. But as the ticks went on and on he opened his eyes and realized that she had withdrawn her blade just in time. In actuality he had stood there for nigh a half a chime with his eyes closed. He knew this was not something to be proud of. To be so afraid of death that you can't even look it in the eye. The honor that he might have once felt fled from him quickly. Then she apologized and suggested the two give it a rest. “Aye” he said again scratching his head in embarrassment. “That is probably wise.” As the woman sheathed her sword he slipped the handle of his hammer in the leather loop on his belt. Then she held out her hand, so the man grabbed it firmly “No thank you. I would have likely been long drunk by now had you not come to save me from boredom.” He smiled as he joked, well at least he hoped she thought he was joking. Unfortunately what he said was probably closer to the truth than what he would like. “Yes I would be happy to do so again. “Next time we will keep it to weapons or wrestling, not both.” The man leaned back laughing at the thought of what transpired earlier. “Good day.” He said and walked hopeful to find a friend there to share his story with. What I really need is someone to release this sexual tension with. He thought to himself. The contact with the young woman had aroused him. He prayed to any god who would hear his request to help him with his angst.

Wow, that was a lot of different things. Good thread you two. Just something to note. Jasper, you're competent in your weapon so I need a little more detail into the use of the weapon, the feel of it swinging through the air, the vibration as it's used to block and such.
