- Sybel fits her racial stock quite well though she is tall for a woman. Her features are handsome and her expression often wry. Her skin only visibly lightens in deepest Winter and for the most part maintains a golden brown hue that is a contrast to her pale blue eyes. She is typically Benshiran in structure – a long thin face, high cheekbones and an agile build. It is in her presentation that she departs significantly from tradition.
Outside of combat, Sybel is outfitted with a light linen shirt and padded vest that provides modest protection, along with hide pants, boots or something similar to that end. Her long chestnut hair is usually worn long and free, with little to no regard to its neatness. Very occasionally it’s tied to one side with a leather thong, when the situation calls for it. In stride she is confident and coordinated.

- Sybel's key phrase is action. Hers is a life of movement and exploration, a quest for challenge and experience. Specifically, her passion lies in the game of mercantilism specifically, though it’s unclear at times whether she a rogue or an honest trader. Truly she seeks negotiation for the love of besting her opponent more than the end of true wealth. Currency is simply a way of keeping score.
On a personal level, she is equal parts affability and energy, though that energy reads as somewhat subdued. Beneath it all, she is as constantly poised to act which lends her a quiet intensity. Sybel is endowed with a quick wit and an earthy sense of humor which she uses to her benefit whenever possible, especially in the spirit of free drinks. Yet beneath her easygoing conviviality, she is actually quite reserved. She is at first uneasy with intimacy and deep connection. Likewise, when pressed for details on her life always finds a way to redirect the conversation.
Sybel is plagued with insatiable wanderlust. As a result, relationships are something she finds challenging. She is mostly independent, never staying with one group for too long, forming brief yet exciting connections until she is ultimately drawn elsewhere. Sensory experience is her drug of choice. The agony of exertion, the grit and struggle - these are the experiences she lives for. Sybel fights for the joy of the fight itself, rather than the reward at the end.
At her core, Sybel possesses a great deal of empathy and a true warmth that is its own reward. She lacks in judgement toward others and seems to view all people with unconditional positive regard. In order to bear the more excruciating trials of her life, she has a tendency to reframe situations in a way that highlights the merits and diminishes the flaws. Likewise, she grapples with impatience and has a tendency to dismiss the more academic virtues in life as trifling or inconsequential in her effort to live in the present tense.
In terms of ethics, Sybel has a more flexible sense of what others call “good,” and has a tendency to view laws as guidelines. This does not ingratiate her to the local officials. Within the arena of trading (and gambling) this is especially true. This is not to say she does not have hard and fast rules. Sybel views the violations of human rights such as murder and slavery with extreme disgust and will work to demolish them wherever they appear.

- Sybel was born in Yahebah. Her Father, Alijah was a merchant and her Mother passed away in childbirth. Due to her only parent’s varied dealings with the outside world, Sybel was exposed to diverse cultures at a young age. Her Father’s vocation began to influence her own skill set. Quickly she developed a keen eye for value and shrewd business practices. Outsiders tantalized her with stories of the world beyond, of hard-won treasures and exotic lands. It began a slow embitterment toward her Father who sought to determine a future for her in line with tradition. She chafed at the consignment and devised an escape.
It was premature however, as her Father was killed before he was able to choose a suitor. This placed Sybel’s destiny squarely, yet tragically in her own hands. It was then at age seventeen that she abandoned worship of Yahal and pledged herself to Ovek. Since she has been traveling as a nomad, offering herself as a hired sword in order to obtain valuable loot to barter with. In some parts of the world she is famous for her over-fondness for ale and dice and is actually banned from several taverns along the coast of the Suvan Sea.
In more recent years, Sybel has traveled the length of the land and back. Attempts were made to settle down in Riverfall, but her restless spirit drew her away as it always does, on to the next great adventure.
