Darkness surrounded the lone figure of the Endal standing a misty rock surface. It reminded Red of a cliff he once stood on over looking the land, but now all was covered in shadows to dark to peer through. In his hand his talon sword danced with light as if it were beaming in the sunlight. Turning around scanning for some sort of answer he felt the cold pain on his head.

Around him began images flashing quickly before him, a blonde haired dek serving him, the people all around him going on and on about the festivities, and even Daghul high in the sky testing out his wings. Then all at once the images grew to a faster pace till you couldn't understand, and like diving into a cold pool of water it ended.

Opening his eyes the light blinded him at first. People stood around him asking questions, talking, but nothing seemed to make sense. Two men came to his aid it seemed first, and as Red slowly came too he caught sight of them. One was a dark haired man from what he could tell not a inarta, but maybe someone he had seen around before never the less he seemed to be helping. The second man the Endal could not say he had seen before ever, but he was a red haired inarta of that he was sure.

The second man seemed to hold him up a bit, and though he was still blurry things were coming back quickly. 'did you see anything?" Red sent his thoughts up to the airs hoping Daghul might have caught sight of his attacked.

'forgive me, Red" the bird replied 'but I was caught off guard' there was a sadness in his voice as the two finished up talking. Red assured the Wind Eagle he was fine, and that it wasn't the eagles fault. Not but a second after the man holding him told him to take it easy Red felt in his hands some sort of fabric, and not that he may need some healing the truth was he was Endal nothing would keep him down. Pushing himself up so he was no sitting on the ground Red started to scan his surroundings.

Things were still a bit foggy, but this was not going to stop him he had been in worse. The clothe in his hand was a Lontev which spelled Dek, but had he just grabbed it as he was falling. Another thing he noted was the serving plate now on the ground. Red made note to find out what was being served on that, but it was only to help him find the culprit. Pushing himself to stand using a near-by table he began to question.

"would some one tell me whats going on?" his voice was not full of rage, but it held a tone of authority, and holding his head he then asked "and you" he pointed at a Dek in the crowd "water, now!" it almost surprised him how he seemed to sound, but this was a mater that he would deal with quickly.

Just as Elna was ready to start shmoozing some of the Avora, all the noise started happening. The load bang could be heard from even as far away as she was. The crowd went silent before heading in to a panic. She rushed to find out what had happened but by the time she arrived the tight circle that had come in to look at the incident was impenetrable. She was to far away from what ever that noise was and her short legs couldn't make up the difference before all the other curious onlookers managed to get the better view.

She wasn't going to see a thing over all these people, best she could do is listen in on peoples reactions. Just as well, she already had some practice listening into a crowd for information when look for work to do, this could give her ears some useful practice.

"Is he dead?!"
"Someone help him!"
"No! Leave him there, you'll hurt him more"

'A murder?' she thought to her self with shock, she had never been close to any sort of violent crime before.

"Who did it?"
"It was a dek! I saw it! He had yellow hair!"

Yellow hair, huh? At least the guy won't be hard to find.

"Get me that Dek now!"
"Where is that petching Dek"

He is especially not going to be hard to find if everyone is coming in with that guys level of conviction.

She then heard several people asking essentially "What did you see" in their own various ways all at once, the commotion was getting bigger and harder to follow, she still couldn't even tell if the poor soul was alive or not.

"Would someone please tell me what is going on? And you water now"

Who would ask for service at a time like this she pondered, failing to make the mental connection that it was the victim.

There was a loud bang from one side of the crowd, jolting Kanri out of her day dreaming state. Her whole body went on high alert. What was happening? There was a lot of screaming and commotion closer to the center of the party, from what she could see. She ran down into the crowd trying to navigate her way through the Inarta however, being gentler than most, she hardly made any progress.

"What's happening!?" Kanri yelled at no one in particular.

The man nearest too her turned and hollered back, "I think someone assassinated a Endal. A dek!"

"What?!" Kanri shouted, terror rippling through her. She did not have her sword today. She had started feeling better since the beginning of Autumn and safer. Why, of all days, had she not brought her sword?

She backed out of the crowd a little where she could see around her. She felt surrounded by enemies, picking out every Dek in the crowd. Many of them looked calm and maybe a little smug, though they were good at masking their emotions. They had to be. What had the Endal done to the Dek to deserve to be killed? Was the assassin who had come after her a Dek? Kanri's mind whirled with questions and panic. Unable to form a coherent plan or think, she bolted back towards the common rooms to try to find her home.

She rammed through a group of people. They all shouted at her angrily and shoved her back. Stumbling away and muttering apologies, she realized; Dek.

Once again Farlen's kindness shall prove to be his own undoing. He had not been in wind reach for long and the city, nor it's people were not dear to his heart. Of course he heard whispers of mischief among the Dek. But that's all he thought they were: just whispers of mischief. Little did he know that a man was going to be hurt. For Farlen however, that's all he was, a man. Social structure bore no value to him.

His kindness was his own undoing indeed. For moments before the assassination he had served the very man; and the moment his back turned everything began happening very fast.

"Is he dead?!"
"Someone help him!"
"No! Leave him there, you'll hurt him more"

What happened? A murder? An assassination? NO! The man was all right. He was only momentarily knocked out by a serving tray. However the blood on the cobbled did not look good, but thankfully he was not killed... this time. Farlen's first reaction was to rush over tot he man and help him, see to his wounds, to protect him from any possible danger fallowing.

"Who did it?"
"It was a dek! I saw it! He had yellow hair!"

Yellow hair, huh? At least the guy won't be hard to find, thought Farlen before realising that he was the only blonde man in the crowd as far as he was aware. A Dek with yellow hair. A description which matched his perfectly.

"Get me that Dek now!"
"Where is that petching Dek"

There were two other men at the Endal's side. One black haired man, the Kelvic and the other an Inarta with the smell of iron upon him. Farlen was not standing very far as the crowds began parting around him. His initial thought was to run. To transform into a lynx and escape the crown, escape Wind Reach. He was in more trouble than he ever bargained for.

Suddenly all eyes were on him. The blonde Dek who has hit an Endal over the head with a serving tray. Only Falen still had his clenched tightly in his hands and he would not let it go no matter what.

"Would someone please tell me what is going on? And you water now"

He watched the Inarta Dek scatter off at the man's wish. Farlen was quite sure that it was a Dek who did this. But it for sure was not him self.

Two Inatra men ceased him by the shoulders and brought him a little closer to the Endal, his tray still firmly in his hands. Blond strands falling over his shoulders untidily. He did not resist, for if he would, people in the crowd would no doubt think that he was the culprit. Being a naive creature, Farlen believed that his innocence will shine though no matter how bad the situation looked. Facing the Endal with determined dignity in his eyes he repeated "I didn't do it. I didn't do it..."

Hearing the commotion, Ardal moved to the crowd that had formed. He couldn’t past the crowd being too short to see anything other than the backs of the other onlookers. More curious than concerned, he decided to climb a nearby stall set up and climbed to the top of it to get a better look at what was happening. He saw the bleeding man in the center “at least he’s alive” he thought to himself. He heard that a Dek did this. Ardal always thought that the way the Deks were treated was terrible but to try to take another life over it was even worse. He decided to stay up there to see if he could survey the crowd better; or even to see if the attack would happen somewhere else.

The throbbing of his head made it hard to center in on what was going on, but before he knew it a cup was being pressed into his hand as Red had requested. Looking into the cup he saw the cool looking water and thankfully took a sip of it letting it's cool refreshing taste clear away some of the fog.

Feeling the back of his head with his left hand he brought back in front of his face some blood, but nothing for him to worry about at the moment. The worst of the pain was coming from all the voices questioning every little thing that was going on, and he needed to think for a moment gather his thoughts a bit more.

Before he knew it two more Inarta came forward dodging around the man who had woke him, and the dark haired man who was actively seeking the Dek. In between the two new men stood the young blonde who had served him just before the attack. The young Dek seemed to be holding tightly to a serving plate with dear life, and repeated the line "I didn't do it, I didn't do it..." but the crowd seemed to think other wise and pushed their voices together.

Things were getting out of hand, and Red had just about had enough of this chaos if he didn't do something soon then he might have bigger problems. Not feeling up to yelling after being hit hard in the back of the head Red decided on a different way to gain control. 'think you can help me out' Red sent up to his friend in the sky.

Then came the answer. Out of the sky came the thunder of wings catching the wind and in moments a Wind Eagle landed on a perch near-by and opening it's mouth let out a loud screech that echoed through the court yard hopefully commanding the crowds focus. The Wind Eagle was Daghul, Red companion and eagle, it was there bond that made him Endal.

"Now, now please if everyone could give us some space" came the loud voice of a slightly irritated Red, and then looking towards Daghul sent through their link 'and this is why I normally stay away from parties' in other times the two would have laughed. Turning his focus to the blonde at hand who seemed to be taking the blame Red had something to say "two things, one I doubt this man was wielding two serving treys" then looking to the garment in his hand "and as well, if it were him then why is he still fully clothed" evidence cleared this man, but maybe he saw something.

Looking to the blonde Red asked in a quieter gentler tone "what is your name?" hoping to gain the trust of the man so that he could put a end to this he put trust in the fact the crowd wouldn't rush to anything crazy.

Farlen's panic calmed a little. His heart once again settled in his chest and he was thankful to the great bird for rendering the crowd silent. And still more thankful he was to the man who, despite being hit in the back of the head, kept it calm and with so little evidence had momentarily cleared his name.

"My name is Farlen" he replied simply, his voice a little shaken still.

Instincts told him to stay close to the Endal, for if he was to melt back into the crowd he would become guilty again and the mob would surely peruse him. Instead he stood there until someone told him what to do. He looked at the bleeding man, not fully and not in the eyes, but stared at his shoes instead.

"I didn't see who did it." Falren added. "But it was not me."

There went the hope that Red had held on too if the Farlen didn't see anything then that left only a few options at hand. Not wanting to seem rude or scare off Farlen, Red wasn't sure the guy would be safe for a bit after this, the Endal nodded and said "I know, we will sort this out, I am Red by the way". After he gave his name he looked back to the crowd his head still throbbing a bit, but after another sip of water he was feeling much clearer now.

The issue at hand though was that something strange and out of place just happened, and Red was starting to get a bad feeling about this. Why would a Dek go so far to attack a Endal? The reason stood, yes Dek were treated harsh, but never before had they had such courage to stand against a Endal. Could it be a set up? That would make sense, but then again why set up a Dek they didn't hold any power to over throw. Red played with these thoughts in his head for a second then turned to the crowd. Someone had to know what happened.

Turning to the people who had been around him when he awoke he started to form a plan. The two men who had been next to him when he woke at least could say that they didn't run or hide so it was unlikely to be them, plus they both had there clothes still. Could he trust them, and was this even something that he should trouble them with. If this was something bigger then what it seemed then things could be worse, but maybe it would be best to down play it.

Looking to the crowd Red smiled and raised his left hand "All is well, let us not keep our party on hold for this shall we?" he gave them a minute to think it over and added "come music, dancing" and he laughed taking a drink of the water in the cup. While things he hoped would pick back up he moved over to the dark haired man (Leaf) and the man who had been next to him when he awoke (Telk) "we need to talk I think" and he also motioned for Farlen to join them over out of the way. Red had decided something was afoot and he wanted to know what.

Obeying Red with no dispute, Farlen had fallowed the three men, reluctant to return to his work. At this time during the party, there wasn't much work to do anyway. He would find him self standing with his hands empty. But the tray at his side, he refused to let go of, just in case someone in the crowd was to challenge his innocence. Besides, if another attack comes he would defend Red to his death and the tray proved in fact to be a handy weapon.

Keeping very silent, he watched as the men attempted at figuring out this bitter ordeal.

"All is well, let us not keep our party on hold for this shall we?"

As if everyone would just forget what they saw. "What could he be up to?" he wonered.

From his spot he watched the four men walk to the side away from the crowd. Ardal’s curiosity got the better of him and he decided to eavesdrop on the men.

He climbed off of the stall and headed to the nearest tray of food he could find. He grabbed an apple off one and walked to where he say them go. He sat around a corner from where the men were gathered slowly eating the apple with his knife to attempt to look innocent. Focusing an ear on what they could be saying.
