The Time Has Come.... [Nadiya]

Nadiya Whitevine
Timestamp;; 5th Summer 512 A.V

Looking out over the slow moving waters, the female at the edges of a makeshift dock did not stir or even move away from it. She was dressed in a large white coat, with a fluffy like collar around the neck. While for her trousers, she wore a pair of simple black cloth. They looked slightly baggy on her, yet they kept her warmth insulated enough at her lower half, that she didn't feel cold. Even though it was the beginning of summer for Avanthal, the city of the Boreas Children and people, it was still cold due to the snow that was all around her. Sometimes greenery did grow in the city, but it was near the sea in the west. Due to the salt from the waters, reaching the sky and hitting the ice to melt it slightly. Yet as she stood there, the female would know that once the time came for winter, she would be stuck. And to leave in the middle of summer would be even more dangerous, since she had no idea how long she would be traveling at sea. While she stood there, her black long locks would sway back away from her face from the wind. When the light hit it, it gave off a brown golden highlight. Like the eyes of her people, her hair tended to look a different color when the sun struck it.

While her eyes are usually a beautiful sapphire blue shade, at the moment, they were completely pitch black. As if the pupil of her eye, ate up the iris, as she stood there with a blank face. Those black eyes, were a recent addition to showing her emotions. Ever since she made her decision long ago, of leaving Taldera to see the world, and to help others as her Goddess dictated. Her eyes had remained a onyx black for a couple of days.

Reaching up, Nadiya Whitevine would slowly rub at her eyes with her right hand. Her black gloved hands sliding along her face, as she let out a sigh. Like the rest of her kind, the Vantha, she had features that were almost fae like. Just last Winter, Nadi had finally reached the age of twenty. A age, for a unmarried Vantha like her, not all common yet not heard of. Cause of this, she gained the title of Icemaiden. More of a tease, then a title, that some of her family like people gave to women who don't marry at the age of sixteen and still unmarried at twenty. She didn't care. Nadi chose not to be tied down for good reason. She had a purpose, one bigger then her own feelings. She is to help others with the powers she was gifted with at birth. While most of her Hold were surprised she was gifted from another Goddess. The one that did gifted her, made them over joyed. Until she told her parent's and rest of her hold, she was planning on leaving before the start of next Winter.

That caused plenty of people to not want her to go. Nadiya didn't know if it was cause they didn't want to lose a Whitevine gifted by Rak'keli, or probably for some other reason. As it was, she could only think of that first reason.

Taking in a deep breath, Nadi holstered her small pack, full of simple gear she was bringing along with. She had none of her favorite books with her, something she had to leave behind, to leave enough room for her supplies. She couldn't go around traveling, carrying such heavy items. Plus, with where she was going, she could always get new books. As well, Nadi couldn't wait to see the temples in honor of the so called Dark Sister and Goddess of Healing. There was the Spires she could travel to for her first stop, yet she had heard rumors of something stirring in the Spires and so decided against it. So she decided to head out into the waters in the west of Avanthal instead. The ship she was boarding, was one heading to the region of Sylira. She didn't know what the name of the city they were stopping at, but it was a port city. And one the ship was returning to home as well.

As she stood there, with her eyes covered by her fingers. She soon heard a soft shuffling behind her, and opened her eyes to look over behind her shoulder with her black eyes. Those eyes, grew darker, as she noticed it was her father. A normal human, instead of a Vantha. His familiar dark blue eyes stared at her, with a sad smile upon his pale face. When she was a girl, and asked about why he wasn't darker then her mother, who had a tanned appearance, he had stated that it was cause he grew up in a place where he didn't go out in the sun as much. Even coming here to Avanthal, he still hasn't colored. As for Nadiya, she earned a coloring mix of both parent's. A tanned olive shading, that gave her a interesting look. "Little Diya, are you sure you want to go along with this?" Nadi didn't say anything back at first, and then gave a nod of her head. She spoke softly, almost murmuring as her eyes looked down to the ground, the lids lowering into a hooded stare. "I have to Pappi. I can't just stay here. I know I can help people here and everything, but I need to go and help more then just those that are here. I need to go out into the world, and help everyone there....I can't fight that urge."

Nadiya's father simply gave one nod, and didn't say anything after that. Both of them didn't talk much, and then finally it was the daughter that spoken up. "Where's Mammi?" It was a simple enough question, but her father's question still made herself mentally flinch. "She wouldn't come. You know how she loves you, since you are her first and only child." She nodded her head. She understood that too well. After Nadi was born, her mother was unable to have children anymore. They were lucky enough to get one, but it had been a stillbirth. Taken away from them by Dira's hands. And one not lucky enough, like Nadiya was. The color of Nadiya's eyes started to change. Turning into a bright crystal blue, instead of the deep sapphire she usually had. It was a color of sorrow and sadness.

Her father didn't say anything, as he saw the eye color change. He was use to it, and also knew for his daughter, what that color meant. Last time he tried to comfort his daughter when she turned into a adult, she reacted badly. Nadi didn't liked to be babied that way. She felt like she had to deal with it herself. She was stubborn that way.

Nadi's father soon cleared his voice, and the color in her eyes quickly shifted to a black pitch once more. "Now, I guess I should wish you safe travels then, my Diya. We are going to miss you, and you know you can always come back after the ice has lessened, you know that right?" She nodded her head slowly, and gave a smile that didn't reach her onyx orbs. "I know that Pappi, I know. When I feel like I'm ready to return, then I will. You don't have to worry, I have Rak'keli guiding my path." Her father smiled a bit more, although still sad.

A long sea horn echoed out, and Nadi turned to see the ship she was to board starting to collect it's ropes. The ship was large, a merchants ship. They saw it as extra help, having someone that was a healer on the ship, to travel with them on the way back. So they had allowed her passage, as long as she helped with any injuries that happened. She agreed easily, and since they secured her ride days ago. She stood there for a long while, just staring over the sea. Soon enough, her father was clearing his throat again as he spoke in a slightly hoarse like voice. "You should get going now, they won't wait for you, if you dwaddle anymore." Nadiya gave a slow nod, and didn't look back at her father as she turned around completely. But she did speak in a low voice. "Thank you Pappi. Tell Mammi......that I love you both. And thank you for raising me." Without another glance, she quickly made her way forward, with her head held high.

As she made her way quickly to the climbing ramp, Nadi would stare up at it with her onyx gaze, the color not changed yet. But as she stood there, a deep orange highlight came into her black orbs, that shade of color showing her fear. Yet over time, it turned into a bright gold, as she was excited at the same time. Drawing in her breath, she calmed her emotions and schooled her features into a blank expression. But her eyes....her onyx eyes soon were gone. Replaced, with a deep sapphire blue that shown like jewels.

Now.....it was a start of a journey. A journey, for the first time, leaving the land she was raised in.
