Ricky felt an understanding disappointment come along as Elem said that he would have to wait til tomorrow, but more so understanding than disappointing really as he would no doubt had done the same thing. It was important that his pa knew where Ricky was everyday, although he pretty much knew where Ricky would go it was still important Ricky tell him. It was an act of responsibility, one that Ricky respected as it was a well made decision. "Absolutely. Maybe we will catch more fish then todah huh?!" He cheered humbly with a grin, a feeling of pride overwhelming him as he had found a fishing partner. When he thought of Elem telling the stories to his parents an idea hit him, and he looked to the guppy with a smirk.
No doubt it was a heavy fish, but his pa had other food to make in case the fish weren't biting today. He would understand and respect Ricky's decision, in fact it would make him proud to hear what Ricky was about to do. "Tell ya what." He said as he placed his hands under the guppy, the fish now gaping its lips continously for more of its air. It squirmed a bit but couldn't move away due to it's own weight keeping it down. Ricky had some trouble in lifting the fish, but not enough to where he could carry it. Picking it up he stood with humble eyes to Elem, his expression a sure one that was rather relaxed. "Ye can have the guppy then," and before Elem could react and turn him down, "and don't think I ain't takin no for an answer. Ye worked twice as hard today so yer gonna share this big guy witb yer parents." He insisted as he started to trudge, the bovine was heavy but Ricky had no problems with it. He could use the workout anyway.

Elem could tell that Ricky felt bad about his not coming for dinner. He felt bad about it, but he knew that coming home after dark was as dangerous as walking there alone. He sort of shrugged, wishing he had the right words to say. He was sort of sorry, but then Ricky's enthusiasm perked him right back up. "You bet, Ricky. I look forward to it!"
Something was going on in the older boy's mind, Elem thought, as he looked back and forth at the fish and then the novice fisherman. His eyebrows perked up in surprise when Ricky told him to take the massive fish home. What?!
"What?!" Elem looked at the huge, flopping fish and before he could react, Ricky was already telling him not to say no about it. he shrugged again, watching the strain as Ricky picked it up. It looked heavy, but he thohgt he could manage it. Coming home with such a large catch and a great fish story that actually came with a fish would be something indeed. His Dad might even be proud of him for once. "Okay, okay. Thanks Ricky! But I'm going to carry it back myself and I ain't takin no for an answer either!" He took the fish away from the older boy and slung it over his shoulder by the tail, nearly falling over from the weight.
Looking back for a second as he wobbled around on his own feet, he waved at Ricky, blowing his bangs out of his face. "Thanks again, buddy! I''l see you soon!" With that, Elel mstarted slinging himself off in the direction of ome, using the beast's weight as a way to move. As long as he didn't have to stop, he would probably be alright. What a great day!
