name ▼ cana of the dancing dead race ▼ myrian birthdate ▼ fall 32 490 av height ▼ 6' weight ▼ 167lbs languages ▼ Myrian - fluent Myrian animal calls - basic Common - poor Cana is completely Myrian. With her almost-gentle face, she could seem nice, almost human, if it weren't for the half-skull tattooed on her face symbolizing her clan. She has the sleek, lithe body of a dancer, muscles corded around strong bones. Almost imperceptible scars mar her skin, but they don't take away from her beauty, they enhance it. Cana's eyes are a reddish amber, as clear as her complexion. She can go from gentle to fierce in a matter of seconds and she can move like a shadow, smooth and quiet. Her prowess mark takes the form of a black jackal footprint on her thigh. Cana has a tattoo of a blue tree on the small of her black, a Prowess mark, and a tattoo of half of a skull marking her clan. She has no other tattoos. Unlike many Myrians, she isn't in the habit of piercings. Cana is generally wearing soft leather shoes and a white shift. During performances, her face is covered by a black jackal mask. She is clothed in a filmy black skirt and top, both covered in dark metal disks, and her feet are usually wrapped in black cloth. ▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲ She is everything a Myrian should be - cunning and fierce, with the prowess of a tiger and the strength of a Tskanna. She was raised on the rituals of the dead, putting heavy emphasis on ancestors. Unlike most of the Dancing Dead, she was trained as a dancer, along with her twin sister, Shara. Her few years of service in the Taloba army has made her tough and powerful, able to work under severe pressure and conditions. Respect and trust has to be earned, and she always casts a wary eye at newcomers and foreigners. Maybe she isn't as bold as other Myrians, but by being quiet and observant, she can notice things others haven't. She has a sense of racial superiority, priding herself on the achievements of her people. She dances in a duo with her twin sister, Shara, and together they symbolize Dira's companions - Before and After. In performance, Cana takes the guise of Before. They mimic each others movements, and are considered a form of interpretive dance often done at funerals. ▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲▼▲ Cana was born as one of twins to Kitpa of the Dancing Dead, along with Shara, her twin sister. It is disputed on who was born first, as no one has bothered to remember and no one really cares except for Cana and Shara. Unlike most of the Dancing Dead children, Cana and Shara were to inherit the position of being the Jackals, Before and After, in dance. This was reserved for the two oldest daughters of the Dancing Dead clan. Her life, from early childhood and upwards, was full of dance. While most of the children in the clan were learning weapons and funeral rites, Cana was learning less of that and more of dance and her role as Before. Her days were filled with lessons and practices, and with learning the favored weapon of the Dancing Dead - the war scythe. She was 15 when she completed her coming of age and received her first Prowess mark. More forthcoming. |
