Mistress Wanda is the caretaker of the Courtyard, a nuit whom even makes some of the oldest Wizards of Sahova uneasy. She alway wears the appearance of an old women well past her prime. Often outsiders describe her as a hag in appearance, calling her the Witch of the Courtyard, and she has well earned her nick name. Within her command is every ghost within these forsaken grounds, and she holds sway over them with an iron fist. It was she that laid down the protective barriers that keep the ghost contained within the Courtyard, and it was she that sealed them to their bones in the first place.
Unlike the rest of the nuits in Sahova, Mistress wanda did not come to Sahova as a member of the ARMED project. She arrived on the island some time before the great Citadel was erected, and it is said that she brought with her spirits from her journeys around the world. She claimed the area of the Courtyard as her own early on, taking a liking too it for its natural aura that draws ghosts to it. The Council of Five allow Mistress Wanda to do as she likes for the most part, and in return she offers them her advice in the ways of Spiritism and ghosts.
Wanda rarely speaks to anyone but the ghosts that always surround her, and when she does give her attention to anything besides the spirits she only converses sparingly. With nuits she may offer a bit more genuine conversation, but to pulsers she rarely, if ever, even dignifies them with a response. She cares little for the living, and barely offers any interest in the undead as well. She possesses an aura of confidence, and an erie way about her ways of moving and talking that often leaves chills running up the spines of those not used to her mannerisms. Some say that the ghosts have rubbed off on her, and indeed the air does seem to grow colder when she is around, though that may be the hundreds of ghosts that trail in her wake...
