Fall 13, 512 Asha stepped toward the doorway of Scintillating Scents and stopped before the doorstep. Already her nose detected a myriad of scents flowing through the door and open windows, most were light and delicate but a few heavier musks pulled through. The smell was intoxicating yet made her stomach knot at the pungency. With one deep breath she stepped forward with one black furred foot and entered the shop. Her chocolate eyes were assaulted by the brilliant reds, purples, oranges, and yellows of bursting blooms and she had to blink her eyes a few times to adjust. Asha began to slowly shuffle her way through the indoor garden that was present before her. She weaved through rows of flowers, reaching out occasionally with a thick finger to brush a petal and soon enough she caught sight of the actual shop and her steps became more purposeful. This new room held rows of potted plants that were just as bright and decadent. Clay jars lined shelves and it seemed impossible but somehow the scent of the room was even more rich and cloying then the scent of the previous. It made Asha feel lightheaded and she had to concentrate on continuing her way back towards the shop counter. “Hello?” Asha called and let her gaze sweep across the room. The scent of the room was so strong she had almost forgotten what she had come here for and her call seemed forlorn because of it. Ah yes she had hoped to purchase a perfume at the establishment but now she wasn’t positive if she would be able to handle the pungent scents they sold. Perhaps it would be less intense in smaller doses or so she hoped. However she supposed that even if it was incredibly aromatic it would be just as well and serve its purpose. Long had she walked past the Petal of Tranquil Slumber where the tanners and butchers worked and almost been sick from the wafting copper scent of blood and burning flesh. She had a particular aversion to that area and desired a small vial of perfume to dab beneath her nose and block the dreaded odors. |
