"Petching corpse..."
It was always like this.
"Getting moldy now of all times..."
It was never when he had nothing to do for the next season.
"Why couldn't you have been on my arse or somewhere else easily hidden and unchafed?"

Ignotus had a problem. Being a Nuit, he rotted. It was just a fact of life. Or unlife, rather. Sometimes, he rotted in very uncomfortable places. The bottom of his foot was one of those places. His boot and sock were peeled off, and his foot was resting on his knee, greenish muscle visible in a patch where moldering skin had come off entirely. It was incredibly irritating. So much so, that he sometimes had to stop walking and take a breather. This was one of those times.

He was sitting on a public bench; he didn't think anyone else would be awake at the late hour, and so thought nothing of examining himself in the open air, with Vino the scout golem whizzing erratically around him. If anything moved within its three hundred and sixty degree line of sight, it would immediately roll towards it. A delightful little early warning system. Especially useful now.

The Nuit was trying to find a way to wrap his sock around his foot that would lessen the pain. So far, he wasn't getting very far. Occasionally, he would hiss in pain as the fabric rubbed against raw flesh. It was always something. "This night couldn't get much worse..."

I See Dead People (Cana)

A midnight walk could clear her thoughts. She never really strayed into the supposed bad parts of Zeltiva, but she always felt she could easily take anyone that threatened her if she did. Even then, she was on her guard. She was always on her guard, even if much was missed by her wary gaze.

Leth illuminated much of her surroundings. Cana wasn't very fond of going out in the pitch darkness. Usually she'd be alone the entire time, without even Eov hovering around her head. Tonight, though, she wasn't alone. A figure was sitting on a bench, fiddling with something on his foot. Something odd was whirring next to him. Magic, must be. The only magic she knew was Spiritism, and everyone in her clan was taught it. Only a few people ever bothered to master it.

As she got closer, the thing started moving towards her, and she startled, jumping back, but not before she got a closer look at the person. Was it even a person, really? He was fixing an ugly patch of what looked like rotting flesh, and people didn't rot. But something did, and only from stories told to her as a child could she name something that rotted.

Nuit.

He most definitely didn't speak Myrian, but she confronted him anyways, with her limited knowledge of the Common tongue.

"Nuit." The word was hissed, like something disgusting and unwanted, which it was.

As Cana neared the undead, the little wooden automaton raced towards her, bumping harmlessly against the Myrian's shin once it had reached her. Ignotus head snapped up a tick afterwards, (reflexes weren't a Nuit's strongest suit) shoving his moldering foot back into the old woolen sock, his brow furrowing. Most of the Wave Guard were asleep. Not all, but enough to worry him.

"Can I help you?" Ignotus asked as politely as he could to the girl in front of him. As he put his left shoe back on, his mind turned to his belly. Though eating was no longer something he did, it was still the location where all his Djed accumulated the most, and where it could be most readily drawn. Some went to the palms of his hands in anticipation of a struggle. A smaller amount, however, traveled up, to his larynx. Focusing on a specific phrase, Ignotus isolated it in his mind, severed it from the rest of his soul, and tucked it into his throat. It spilled out of him along with the simple query, spilled out and sought a new host... Cana. "I'm seeing things..." her own head would tell her. Pity it would tell her that in Common.

The foreign thought was easily isolated - it was in Common. She could barely speak Common. Magic? Was this...hypnotism? She had never had the magic used against her before. But the fact that this...thing was using magic on her meant that it was real, entirely real. She didn't believe the thought for a second.

Her scythe was in her hand, forgotten but still there. She never left at night without it, and now her grip around the familiar weapon reassured her.

"Nuit." She repeated, her voice still hissing like a snake. Even the word disgusted her. It was an ugly clump of sounds, in her opinion. Not like Myrian, where everything flowed nice and smooth.

This was bad. This was very, very bad. Ignotus didn't know why, but his Hypnotism wasn't working. He slowly started to edge away from the woman as he began to stand, a faint azure gel leaking out from his pores. "Leave." he said coldly, a faint sparking sound coming from between his fingers as a miniscule about of Res was transmuted into electricity. Barely enough to qualify as static. Just a warning, really.

The real electricity would come if she decided to attack. "Zeltiva does not appreciate bigots. It appreciates murderers less."
The implication was easy enough to charge. There would be consequences if she attacked Ignotus. Potentially lethal consequences. He would just have to hope it would sink in.
