Basic Information Name: Asyriona reMenehat Race: Eypharian Age: 19 Birthday: 1st Day of the Red Watchstone | 493 AV Physical Appearance Facial: Asyriona has an olive complexion that glows very nearly golden in the sunlight. Though Eypharians are oft to wear heavy make-up, beneath it her face is sun-tanned. Her cheekbones are strong and high. Her eyes are almond-shaped, slightly wide-eyed, with glittering midnight black irises. They're set deeply in her face, often giving the appearance that she is dreaming, or lost in thought. Her pupils are black to the point that they almost seem a venomous blue. Her nose is sharp with a curve at the base, reminiscent of a small falcon, and her nostrils are thin that they appear like slits. Her lips are thick and the bottom lip parts in the center, folding outward like a blossoming rose. Her hair is jet black and typically set in heavy, oily curls that are pinned to the sides of her head. Make-Up: She wears a layer of waxy, ruby gloss on her lips. She typically affixes small, glittering stones in a constellation near her eyes. Her eyes are kohl-rimmed, making them appear large and dramatic. She sometimes wears a light dusting of burgundy rouge on her cheeks. Body: In a haughty Eypharian pose, she stands at 5’7” and weighs 148. She has four arms, all of which are equal in length but the primary limbs sit flush against her sides. They have greater freedom of motion and have lightly corded muscles due to daily use. Her second set of arms connect near her shoulder blades and typically take residence in the crook of her elbows. Although both arms in her secondary set function as normal, convenience dictates that they’re not as often used, save when dancing. Because of her Eypharian bone structure, the shoulder sockets are more open to allow a greater range. Her breasts are of typical size for a young adult of her race. Her waist is slim, stomach taut and lightly shadowed with muscle from years of dancing. Her legs are slim at the calves but widen at the thighs. Her feet are slender and the only part of her body that shows obvious imperfection - they're calloused from dancing barefoot on earthen floors. Raiment: She wears linen robes that have extended arm holes to allow all four arms to move freely. The material tightens at the ribs to accentuate her waist line and flares out once again at the hips. The folds of the linen close in at the ankles, allowing both quick movement and air to pass through the fabric. When venturing outside, she fastens a powder blue cloak over her robes. Character Concept Asyriona - called Syri only by the closest of her friends and family members - is driven by the will to succeed and excel at the tasks she undertakes. Having a great interest in the arts and nature, she strives to bring out and emphasize the beauty of the natural world and the Eypharian body. She mislikes for others to see the vulnerability within her and therefore is slow to form bonds. Like most Eypharians, she has a fierce passion for victory running hot in her blood, but her disgust with losing makes her less competitive than much of her kind. She holds a constant insecurity that she will be spotted as uncultured, given her uncompleted upbringing in the less inhabited regions of Ekytol. Still, she carries herself with her head held high and a fierce desire to be admired by her comrades. After all, true beauty is the only way to power and if she succeeds at enchanting others, she will win her freedom. Character History Asyriona grew up on the outskirts of Ahnatep where the sun shone hotter and the nights were long and cool. Water was always limited, making for a rough life in a culture that required excessive hygiene practices, but Syri was raised within a small, tight-knit family that did as they could to make up for what was lacking. When Syri was only four years old, however, she saw the dark side of Eypharian ambition in the form of her father being beaten to death during a competitive fight. Not long after, her mother became quiet and withdrawn, putting the strain on Asyriona to raise her sister, Alynera. Caring for Alynera was a full time job that didn't allow her much time to learn the beauty customs and religious schools of the Eypharians. What she did take from her upbringing, however, was her mother's devout worship of the Goddess Caiyha. It left her with a deep-seated respect for nature, particularly of flowers. When Syri was twelve and Alynera was ten, her mother began to run out of the money her father had carefully saved even through hardship. The details are still unclear to Syri, but she believes her mother took a loan from a con-man who, in turn, sold her debt to wealthy lords in the city. A few weeks before her thirteenth birthday, strangers came to the door and took away her sister to exact repayment of the debt. Her mother fell into disarray not long after and Syri did what was in her ability - dance how little she could at small parties, provide cosmetic assistance to middle-class women before galas they needed to attend to - to keep the last of her family, the two of them, going. Now that she is nineteen, she has left her mother behind and ventured into the city she always looked at from afar, hoping to find her sister within its vast walls and somehow win her back. She believes if she is selected at the Garden of Concubines, she will win the favour of the Pressorah and have the power to ask for her sister's release. Possessions 01.) The inner walls are the same colour as the dull mud brick that the structure is constructed from. Her room contains two windows - both located on the eastern wall - with flower-patterned wood screens and a view of the courtyard. Just below her windows are a collection of daylilies she’s planted to make the housing more aesthetically appealing, using the seeds her younger sister gave her shortly before she moved out. The main door is located near the northeast corner, directly right of the windows, and is made of a dark, earth-coloured wood. The room contains a meager chest where she typically deposits her backpack and her most prized possession - her cosmetics accessories. The room also contains a standing basin, bench, bed and brazier. The highlight of the room, for Asyriona, is the polished copper mirror that hangs in the center of the west wall. Due to Ahnatep's hot climate, her pet snake, Zetherine, is often found snoozing on the bed. The courtyard contains a modest marble fountain with engraved snakes along the trim. A few tropical trees litter the paddock. There's a small white stone path that leads to the main entrance.
