A Night At The Stallion [Hisoka, Crypt, Yohan]

Postby Crypt on November 18th, 2012, 1:19 pm

Crypt hid a grin as he watched Hisoka deal with the drunkard most satisfyingly. His proximity to the Kelvic gave him quite a clear view of the small incident.

The Drykas turned towards Yohan, listening to his words. They were rather pleasing - soothing to the ear -, though quite unusual, in that if Hisoka did not want to speak of other information she wished to keep to herself, what would be the point of asking her to reveal such information?

Crypt's body stiffened as a few reasons why he would do ran through his mind. Deciding to err on the side of caution, he leant back and started to manipulate his Djed, opening his mind and eyes to the Arcane after a few seconds of concentrating intensely, and was immediately greeted with what appeared to be a purple mist fading away.

Now... What? What's this? Djed? He's using his Djed on her? For what purpose? To reveal said information? And how would he do it? Reimancy, the Flux, Morphing and Auristics would have no effect. He isn't drawing any Djed from her either, the purple residue is coming from him. Why would he use Djed then, if only to persuade her to give him what he wants? Curious. Still, using magic in such a way is rather... despicable.

Crypt halted the flow of Djed after identifying the Djed emerging from Yohan's mouth. Leaning forward, he spoke in a low voice, placing one hand beneath the table on the hilt of his longsword.

"Master Yohan, I would advise you to stop whatever you are doing straight away. If Hisoka does not wish to mention it, or if she deliberately left it out, then do not force her to do so with your... enhanced speech. I see what you are doing, and it is only because you have been most polite and courteous compared to most Zith that I do not attempt anything other than warn you."

A Night At The Stallion [Hisoka, Crypt, Yohan]

Postby Rhylund Vauler on November 18th, 2012, 3:29 pm

The mug of ale delivered another room-temperature bite with increasingly good taste as it hid Rhylund's eyes from the event unfolding across the table. His weight leaned back forward so that all four legs rested firmly on the ground and a knowing smile touched his eyes once he spotted the man being carted off by his friends. Over indulgence in drink was something that he could not bring himself to berate others for: intoxication was a fickle mistress, and one that he had woken up beside in the past after a night consisting of only hazy memories.

The bard set his mug down and looked across to the smile the girl-wolf offered to the rest of them. She appeared to be the eye of the storm between two other men: intense interest spurred Yohan's probing questions and hungry body language. The way he licked his lips made him think of a wild animal eyeing its prey, and as the Zith's words ended, Crypt supplied the counter current that suggested their pleasant evening may be drawing to a close. Rhylund was not the best at reading every intention, but his training told him that soothing tones would not be amiss. He had no idea what exactly it was that Crypt had referred to, but his mind began to quickly peace together a situation that placed him at the same table as a violent outburst over a woman. He had seen it so many times before: and here, in Syliras, this scenario ended with him being hauled off by authorities for simply being too close to the source.

He quickly finished the rest of his ale and set it in the middle of the table before placing his palms flat upon the wooden surface to push himself up. "A pleasure to meet you all, really." His smile took each in turn as he gave a deep bow then rose to rub his hands together. "However, I really must be returning to my dais! Good evening, and thank you for the company." He turned and strode back over to his lute before they had a proper chance to protest. A few notes hummed to check the instrument's tuning, and once each string had sounded in agreement with the one struck before, he took to the stage and allowed one loud chord to ring to announce his return.

A Night At The Stallion [Hisoka, Crypt, Yohan]

Postby Hisoka on November 18th, 2012, 10:17 pm

Hisoka winced slightly as the thought, "You can trust us.", entered her mind. For one, she did not, ever, trust anyone completely, that had long been beaten out of her, and secondly, she did not truly know anything more about her race, so she had no answer to his question.
When Crypt spoke quietly to Yohan, she heard every word with her wolf hearing. Enhanced speech?, she thought. Was the winged man using... magic on her? She shifted nervously in her seat. She did not enjoy something that she could not see, being used on her. In particular, if it was someone she had felt would not betray, what might have eventually grown into, trust.

As the two men to her sides engaged in their conversation, Rhylund stood. Giving quick pleasantries, he hurried to the dais, almost as if he was running from something. She was glad that he would once again play his lute, and she hoped that it would settle Crypt and Yohan. Hearing his opening chord, her tenseness seemed to slowly, trickle away. She sent the Bard a grateful look, and turned to Yohan. "What did you use on me..?", she asked him quietly, her gaze searching his face. Why do you wish to know more about my race? I do not have any more knowledge of them anyways., her building anger was reduced to a resigned sigh.

A Night At The Stallion [Hisoka, Crypt, Yohan]

Postby Yohan on November 19th, 2012, 1:17 am

He was rather surprised at Crypt. How did he know?! Can he see my djed? His body tensed as the storyteller spoke. His threatening words made Yohan smile inwardly. Is he challenging me? Yes I believe he is. Perhaps this man is more than a simple entertainer. He kept his eyes however on Hisoka, deciding that if he looked Crypts way, the man may see the challenge in his eyes and provoke him further. He was so lost in thought that he hardly noticed Rhylund leave.

What did you use on me..? His eyes widened slighty, surprised that the girl was able to hear what Crypt had said. But then he noticed the guarded tone she used. While before her voice was soft and kind, now it was only defensive and untrusting. He lowered his eyes to the table. He was making a friend, and now she seemed set off by him. He instantly regretted his use of magic.

But another thought crossed his mind as well. She was able to hear Crypts whisper. Perhaps, not only does she take the form of a wolf, but she has the senses of an animal too. He decided to be certain, he would test this, so he spoke in a low whisper.

"I'm dreadfully sorry Hisoka.." He began, "You see, I have a terrible thirst for knowledge. And I thought that you had kept something from me. Please, find it in you to forgive my mistrust." His voice was low enough that if she heard, he knew her ears worked better than most at least. But his apology was genuine. And his regret and sincerity was obvious on his face and in his demeanor.

A Night At The Stallion [Hisoka, Crypt, Yohan]

Postby Crypt on November 19th, 2012, 4:17 pm

Crypt was partially appeased by Yohan's apologetic manner, but he still left his hand on his longsword, just to be safe. Smiling slightly as Rhylund began to play his lute, he leant back, not longer appearing to be aggressive. Hopefully Yohan would not do anything that might compound the problem - Crypt would hate to start a fight in the Rearing Stallion and attract the attention of the Syliran Knights.

At least no one else seems to have noticed this little... altercation? Incident? Still, he'd better watch out.

Crypt continued to stare at Yohan, observing every twitch, every movement he could possibly see, before he spoke again with a more controlled tone.

“I have my secrets, Yohan; I am not just a simple, carefree storyteller or bard. You would do well to remember that.”

A Night At The Stallion [Hisoka, Crypt, Yohan]

Postby Rhylund Vauler on November 20th, 2012, 7:14 am

Rhylund watched the table holding the small menagerie of diverse patrons he had just departed as tranquil sound trickled out of his lute in imitation of a well-made music box. Their body language shifted slightly, and his optimism helped him along in deciding that they would maintain the peace. He rested easier knowing that he would have no part of it if they did not.

His fingers continued to court the strings beneath each hand as his gaze drifted away from the three to take in the many others enjoying drink and good company. The sight made him smile. He loved playing his lute as if it were a toy─and he a child─and he enjoyed being the center of attention at times. But, there was a quiet calm to the selfish appreciation of bringing selfless joy to strangers.

A Night At The Stallion [Hisoka, Crypt, Yohan]

Postby Hisoka on November 20th, 2012, 7:42 am

At the Zith's words, she looked down. "You must gain it first...", she replied softly, unaware of Yohan's small test. She felt as if someone had invaded her territory, a place that belonged to her, and her alone.
As Crypt spoke, she glanced at him, a thoughtful expression in her eyes. "He is many things... a... stable hand...? Yes, stable hand, a storyteller, and a... predator... no.. a fighter?", she thought, her eyes drawn to his sword. However, she shrugged off the thought, since it did not matter that he was many things, for one of those was many things, he was the human who had saved her. Remained deep in thought, minutes passing unnoticed.

Sitting quietly in her chair, she let her gaze travel to the dais, and bathed in the music. She allowed her mind to drift with the gentle melody, escaping from the human emotions that confused her so much. Humans, and other sentient species for that matter, were complicated, for they had hidden motives, sometimes ones with good intentions, others, shrouded in a fog so deep, that one had much trouble guessing.
Again, pushing her buzzing thoughts aside (strange for one of her species), she immersed herself in the stream of notes, trickling from Rhylund's lute.
She was soothed by the sounds, her head swaying slightly in time to the tune, she closed her eyes, concentrating on it.

A Night At The Stallion [Hisoka, Crypt, Yohan]

Postby Yohan on November 20th, 2012, 2:56 pm

A pleased smile creased on his face. So I was right.

He whispered again in reply. "I will change your mind about me Hisoka. With Leth by my side I will change everything. Though to do that you must know me. He spoke at normal tone, so as to include Crypt. "Mr. Crypt" His gaze turned to the shorter human across from him. "How skilled are you with that sword of yours?" His face was contempt, confident, and indeed arrogant as well. You threatened me Crypt, I want to see if you can back it up.
"How about a short sparring match? As friends of course. I will glove my claws and to you, a wooden sword." His gaze glanced briefly to Hisoka. "And Hisoka can judge." As an afterthought he said a little lower, "Perhaps are bard friend over there would be willing to set the mood for us as well? Not tonight of course, but a later time maybe." He listened briefly to the tune the bard was playing. Though it was relaxing, it would not calm him down from his challenge.

Secret :
The song is called Greensleeves. I don't own it so Im making this so I don't get sued or somethin lol. Also if it doesn't load for you, heres this

His gaze locked with Crypts. It was aggressive, yet not hateful or angry. More..playful. He fought the urge to mix Hypnotism with his gaze.

"What do you say?"

“Well, a little bit of this, a little bit of that... Not really much, I haven't had practice in quite a while.”

Crypt's grin widened as Yohan challenged him.

“Name the time and place then, though I cannot do so except after the seventeenth bell. 'Twould be a pleasure to spar with you. I do not know if Hisoka has any experience in judging such combat, but there's always a first time for everything.”

Interesting. Hopefully this will go well.

A Night At The Stallion [Hisoka, Crypt, Yohan]

Postby Hisoka on November 20th, 2012, 11:32 pm

ooc :
Rhylund said it was alright to skip him this time

Hisoka did not hear his words, for though she has a wolf's hearing, she was so concentrated on the sound of the lute, that a whisper would not be able to distract her.

At the mentioning of her name, she refocused on the two at the table.
"..What..?", she asked, confused. Sorting through what her unconsciousness had picked, she looked at them, still somewhat at a loss. "Fight...? Judge.. How?".
She sent a questioning look at each of them, unsure of what to think. By Crypt's expression, she assumed that it was a game, however, she knew that the word fight, was anything but.

Seemingly unaffected, the music continued in the background, the other patrons of the tavern just as unaware, drinking and chattering away.
