Summer 11 421 -Midnight-
Vick had seen the bones and blood but he had to spend a lot of time thinking how to use them just right. He could not crave them due to risk breaking them so that left him painting and drawing. Both of which his skills were not the best in any sense of the word yet that was why he in his lab with blank sheets of paper in front of him, ink, quills, paint brushes and paint.
He was going to focus and work on his skills before getting back to work on the magecrafting project. He would have roughly eight bells to himself and he would spend that time just doing this nonstop trying to improve. Afterwards if he felt like he could not do a good enough job than he would do it again until he felt his ego was on normal ground.
He was better at drawing than painting. It was just a simple fact in life as he took the quill and dipped it within the cold black ink. He let the tip of the quill touch the first sheet of the paper and with a slow motion he moved it up making a vertical line that was six inches long. At the top of that line he drew a horizontal line that was three inches long before making one more vertical line that was again six inches long so it matched up with the other line.
It was a simple long box looking object without a bottom but he was not done with it yet for the image inside his own mind told him so. He was working on one of the ears for his soon to be bear but he just dipped the quill into the ink and started drawing the lines a bit further apart.
One Vertical line that was again six inches long with a horizontal line which was three inches long before going down again for the six inches long matching the first drawing. It was slow work he had to admit. Not as slow as working with bones but still slow nevertheless since he was trying very hard to get it right.
With that done he had then took the tip of his quill along the first lower end of his half box and drew a large circle. The circle in question made the bottoms of the two boxes and met once more at the starting point. This was to act as the head of the bear for his creation.
Right below the “head” Vick drew another larger half circle letting the tops touch. The half circle was just that. It stopped midway from making a full circle but on the right side of that he took the end of the half circle and made a longer circle that was more of an angle towards the right.
Another drip of the quill and he made the same circle at the other side but more of the left. It was longer horizontally than the body and head which was the same as the other circle he had just made. One curved line at the bottom was made to link them together.
It was done. Vick knew as he saw but it did not turn out like the image in his head. The circles were off and still not perfect in his eyes. Yet it was done nonetheless as smiled for the first time. It was a bear. He could recall images of having such toy long ago and that is what he took into his head.
