Closed To Reach the Top(Oitera)

[Red Daghul]

The girl stood and Red gave her a surprised look most people would have just laid there a moment to regain their strength, yet this girl had a smile on her face. The Endal was shocked and confused till he saw her body tremble, and he knew what was coming next.

Though she tried to slow herself down Oitera started to fall not to long after the Endal noted her weakening, but Red was fast and quickly slide behind her grabbing her shoulders and easing her to the ground though she made no indication that she knew what was going on. Worry surrounded Red he was no healer, or even knew much about it. The girl shook her head, and there was more confusion.

'Daghul, I need help' the Endal sent to his Eagle who circled.

'is she breathing?' Red sent back a yes 'she needs a minute to rest I think' the Bird sent again.

Red fanned the girl and tried to keep her in a restful position, but he still had no idea what to do he was even afraid to move her. "Oitera, Oitera can you here me?" he asked hoping for a answer.

[Oitera]

The black dots were everywhere, even though she tried to push them away with her hand. But then her hand didn't do all that much besides lifting a bit and then falling down again. Was she about to black out? A thought struck, was she going to black out in front of an Endal?! No! She shock her head again.

The man was talking now, but Oitera didn't hear much of it. He said her own name twise and then something else. Yeah, she was about to black out. But she didn't want to! Then she realised that the Endal was holding her! All her learned reflexes reacted on this statement.

She sat up, thought it took a lot of effort and she still couldn't see a lot. The black dots was shrinking slowly, she could see a little now. She looked over at the Endal man, he seemed worried. Oh, he was just catching me when I fell, she realised. She smiled again against him for no reason before putting her head between her knees.

This day was odd. First she decided to climb a cliff, then a Wind Eagle and an Endal came to save her. Then the Endal climbed with her and saved her a second time, even though she would have gotten any sever injuries if she'd fallen. Yes, this was a strange day indeed.

The reaction to his question was most unexpected as Oitera sat up gave him a smile then put her head between her knees. Confusion was just the surface of what the Endal felt as he watched the girl. Standing to his feet he looked down at Oitera trying to decided that best action.

On one hand see seemed to be in control of herself even if she was weak, and maybe she was on the edge of passing out which would explain the strange behavior. The real question is what should Red do to help her? The best thing he could think of was to give her a minute and then have Daghul take her down, and maybe then to the healers to make sure she was okay.

"Oitera, I'm going to have Daghul take you down to the Reach, do you think you will be okay to fly?" he hoped she would be he didn't want her to get any worse then she was.

The Endal was now standing up and talking to her, something about Daghul and "...down to the Reach." But she didn't want to go down, not when she'd made it up here! But she was quite tired, the black dots was now very small and few at least. Oitera wanted to look at the view before going down again.

She pulled her head up, it felt like it had doubled it's weight, and looked out over the cliff edge. It was beautiful! "I..." She had to get some water after this. "I don't want to go down yet." She looked up at Red, he was worried about her. Slowly Oitera stood up again, glancing at Red to tell him not to help her, she would do this on her own. She slowly walked closer to the edge and looked out of the edge, it was amazing!

The black dots disappeared completely, but she was still very tired. She looked back at Red and looked very happy and proved about really climbing the cliff. Then she realised something, the Endal had talked about Daghul and down to the Reach. He had said that she would fly down on Daghul! A Wind Eagle!

She starred at Red, had he really ment that? No, it could be true! "When you talked about Daghul and going down to the Reach, did you mean that I would fly on him?" She had to know, even if she might have blown her chances when she said she wanted to stay a while.

The change happened as suddenly as a gust of wind changed at the coming of a storm. One moment Oitera was still resting, and the next she was forcing herself up. With a look that Red was clear on the meaning to let her get up herself the Endal stayed away hiding the fact that her stubbornness wasn't one of his favorite things. Seeing it in the light that she was young and didn't know better he let the issue drop.

The Endal now watched the girl as she stepped closer to the edge which sent a stab of panic through Red as he took a step closer with out her looking just in case she wasn't all the way back to normal. All it would take was her feeling weak and passing out for the adventure to continue, and they might not be so lucky this time.

Then she started to inquire about what he had said before about Daghul taking her down back to the Reach. Hearing her talk gave him reason enough to let her stay up here a bit longer she had made it up, so in his mind she needed to enjoy the sight of the mountain range.

A smile crept up on Red's face as he could tell her excitement over getting to fly on the back on a Wind Eagle, and this he could relate to well. "You bet I did" he gave a soft laugh and added "I don't think that either of us would rather climb down..." he gave a small pause "specially when you could fly" he gave her a knowing look as if to say he had figured out her desire to have a Wind Eagle.

"I may be going out on a limb her Oitera, but when you asked me to help you with the Wind Eagle did you mean you just wanted to know more about them, or that you wanted to know how to get bonded by one" though the topic had been hard to talk about down on the ground now it seemed easier. Maybe it was because of the climb, or maybe the excitement she had over flying, or it could even be both. The truth was he felt that he should ask, and he wanted to talk to her about it... that is if she was up to it.

It seemed to many in the Reach this idea of the endal either was a joyous thing, a think to fear, or even in some cases hate. All Inarta were given the chance to become endal, but it was true only a few were chosen. Red knew that he wanted the endal to be seen as people who were willing to help those in need, and to be seen in a good light rather then privileged people who now were on the top of the food change as it might be said. It was a sad thing that some endal didn't see it that way, but life always has it's challenges.

He did mean it! Oitera just starred at him for a while before remembering to not act as a child. She tried to gather her thoughts and make her face become plain, she failed with both. The excitement was obvious to see in the face and eyes, her lips pulled up into a smile that said everything about how she felt for riding an Eagle.

But when he asked if she had really asked him how to bond a Wind Eagle, the became reserved and the smile disappeared, was it that obvious? But it could just be the fact that as good as all of the kids in Wind Reach wanted to become a Rider. Yes, that was why he had asked. She looked away from him, looking at the Wind Eagle again while thinking of what to answer. She could lie to him, but he had been honest and nice to her.

Oitera looked back at Red and nodded, deciding that she was going to tell him, she could tell him all about it. "Yes, I want to become a Rider. That's why I wanted to climb up here, but it did work. I'm not really surprised." The last sentence was bitter, she looked away from Red and thought about what she remembered about her mother.

Oitera hated the feeling of being someone else's slave, she was going to become a Rider. Even if she was going to have to climb ten cliff walls like this one, rather that then being some Endals or Avora's bed warmer. She looked back at Red, but her eyes gave a hint that she didn't really see him.

She saw him like a statu at that moment, like a symbol for all men. The hate was obvious in her eyes. But quickly she remembered the Endal and he was different, a nice man, she relaxed and her face went blank. She looked away again, out over the view.

Such twisted emotions seemed to play out in Oitera, for the vibes she sent out seemed to bounce back and forth between excited and happy, to reserve and wary, and then finally to hate. It seemed almost a loop. The Endal was puzzled by the looks and the different tones, but at least it seemed pretty straight forward.

Her response wasn't a unexpected one after all that he had seen it was pretty clear that she wanted to bond a eagle. That was where things were going to get hard, yet see seemed to know that what she wanted was not something easily obtained.

"That is a noble goal" he said respectfully "and I can see you understand not easy one" to tell the truth her understanding of how hard it was paired with her devotion to it was something to be respected. "I wouldn't be surprised to see you flying in the sky some day" he added to his last commit giving her a smile and a head nod to show he meant it "but, and I think you already are understanding this, climbing a wall isn't what most Wind Eagle seek in a bondmate" he rubbed the back of his neck "though the daring might attract one it is more of whats inside you they seek as I said below" he hoped that this would not discourage the young lady.

Daghul started to sweep down towards the flat land that the Endal and girl stood on, and Daghul sent a thought to Red to add "Daghul says that he agrees, and that he was impressed with your climb. You devotion to your goal is quite a feat" the Bird craned his head down after landing hoping the girl would pet him again. Red rolled his eyes at the gesture and laughing on the inside at the Bird's actions.

"You know I think i speak for both Daghul and me when i say that it would be a honored to have you counted in the ranks one day" she had proven herself a tough lass, and even more proven to them that she had the guts to stick to the task no mater how hard it was. Of course, the only problem was that it wasn't the Endal or Daghul she needed to impress, and that was too bad because in Red's mind he was sure one day she would make a great endal.

"well let me know when your ready to head back down to the Reach, and will take to the air" he nodded and then he himself looked out over the mountains watching the sun slowly fall into slumber behind a peak.

While thinking about what Red had said to her, Oitera petted Daghul. She was a little proud over that Red, and Daghul he said, thought that she would become an Endal one day. And he was right, she wouldn't give up. Giving up was equal with dying in some cases.

"If they do search inside my mind for the right things, I got to prove to myself what I'm capable of." She smilied to herself while petting Daghul. Then she stopped smiling and looked bitter again. "I knew this wouldn't help me get an Eagle, but I had to try after hearing the story of Leanna climbing a cliff and getting a WInd Eagle"

She felt a bit disappointed about not getting an Eagle and stupid cause she now discovered that she had hopped that the story was true. Oitera wanted to get a Wind Eagle, but this wasn't the way. Now that Red had told her that the Wind Eagle searched for bondmates for their mind, she started to doupt that she would ever get an Eagle. Pitty.

But she would keep trying and if she didn't become a Rider, she could always become an Avora, that was almost as good. Oitera looked out over the view again before turning to Red. "We can fly down now." A bit of her excitement over flying on a Wind Eagle came back and her face reaveled it.

With the final thoughts and words out and the sun slowly sinking away the Endal gestured to Daghul as he sent wordlessly to the bird that it was time. The bird gave him a curt nod as Red moved over to Daghul and opened his mouth "Very well, time to show you the skies I believe" he said a strange excitement of seeing her joy at flying was building.

The Endal took his place on the eagles back and waited for the girl to do the same feeling that she would be able to get on easy enough... She did just climb a mountain cliff. Daghul did lean over a bit to help her on. Then once both riders were ready Red gave the word for the bird to go, and all at once they dropped from their cliff top and Daghul opened his wings letting the air catch and they steadied off as the bird circled down to the ground carefully because of the darkness and shadows that surrounded them.

As Oitera saw Red climb up on Daghul, the excitement of what she was about to experience caught her. She was about to fly on a Wind Eagle! Then she climbed on, a bit worried for hurting Daghul by pulling out any feathers, but it drowned in the excitement. As soon as she was sitting on the Eagle's back, he flew off!

As they dived Oitera experienced a mix of fear and excitement, she grabbed the closest thing, Red, by reaction as they fell. But it lasted only for a couple of seconds before Daghul spread his wings out and they got straightened up. Oitera was now giggling and crying a little, totally forgetting she was hugging a man. This was amazing! But quite scary she had to confess to herself.
