Physical Description
As a halfbreed, Darkness presents an unusual mix of traits - while he does have large claws and the dark, red, soft fur that mark him as one of the Zith, he lacks their distinctive wings and he's heavy for a Zith, weighing some 150 pounds and standing 5'11". His hair, on the other side, is a pretty plain black, usually kept the same length as his fur.
His face is an exotic mix of features as well, dominated by his piercing green stare; just as his body is dominated by the large scars covering both his arms in a chaotic pattern, leaving large patches of skin furless. His clothing is inexistant, revealing to the world his lean build, the contour of the muscles hinted through the fur.
Character Concept and History
Darkness is a character heavily marked by his perceived limitations: compared to other Zith, he's weaker, and can't fly. He is, however, more capable of clear thinking than they are, so he found a comfortable place in his family dealing with traders and slaves.
It's in this environment that his interest for other races appeared. Triggering his Zith curiosity, it wasn't long before he started observing traders and questioning slaves and, once he'd acquired all the knowledge he could through them, he began to observe passing caravans from afar, with the help of a traded-for sighting lens.
Of course, the wilderness isn't a place for a lone, flightless Zith. He ran into trouble more than once, sometimes managing to outwit the beasts when they chased him, others getting help from a nearby family member who'd agreed to escort him. Fortunately for him, he somehow managed to avoid being detected by those inhabitants of the plains that would gladly take his head as a trophy, the very same that he was watching and that would normally fall prey to a Zith ambush shortly after his visits, ambush that the mixed blood couldn't participate in due to his lack of wings.
It was during one of those ambushes that the Djed storm struck. Darkness was outside, waiting for his family's return, and he was exposed to the storm for a brief period of time - long enough to make parts of his flesh boil and fall off. While he managed to reach safety, he was unconscious for a few days. By the time he woke up, it was clear that his family wasn't returning and so there was nothing binding him to Xy anymore. Trading their remaining slaves with other Zith for the supplies he needed, he set off to learn more about humans.
