Kassius Selacs Physical Description Since you assked sso politely.... Name: Zorinakassius Alias: Kassius (Kass) Selace Sex: MaleWhile he is physically male, Kass is trans*, though he has no real concept of that idea. He is androgynous, a blend of male and female, though he happens to be more masculine than feminine Race: Dhani (Rattler) Age: 137 Birthday: 375 AV 5th of Summer Appearance A rather dashing rogue, if you asssk me Standing at 5’9”, Kassius is absolutely, most certainly, uh.... ambiguous? Lithe and graceful, Kassius has a remarkable tendency to get people guessing at his gender. He keeps his blond hair loose, and never cuts it above the shoulder, quite pleased with his androgyny. As a reptile, however, he is far more obviously masculine. A little over 15 feet in his Dhani form, and 13’6” as a snake, he is striped black, gold and copper, in that order from head to tail. Character Concept Well aren’t you curiouss. Very well. I’m in a ssharing mood Kassius is a snake with no purpose in life, and loving it. He is carefree, and faces both good times and bad with a smirk on his face. Alvadas continually entertains him, and so he stays. His actions are big and extravagant, and he always has a quip ready. Though male, Kass has no problems with being mistaken for the opposite gender, and has never bothered to correct anyone on it. In fact, it wouldn’t be entirely inaccurate to say that Kass has stopped caring about gender entirely. He has been known to flirt with men as well as women. At least, those men who don’t look like they would punch him in the face for that. Despite his attitude, Kassius has a fairly logically oriented mindset, and is hardly the most moral of people. One could argue he is something of a sociopath. A harmless one, provided you don’t antagonize him, but a sociopath none the less. After all, it’s in the blood. Character History My tail? Oh, my tale. Well, it'ss rather interessting, if I do ssay sso mysself. Kassius was an unconventional dhani from the very beginning. For one, he was born outside of the three main nests. His parents and sisters were wandering performers, going into towns every few years to earn money. For years, he and his siblings accompanied them as their pet snakes, until they matured enough to take on his human form. Growing up, Kass was taught, alternately, the way of the performer, and the way of the Dhani. The way of the performer was easy. He was good with his hands, and picked up juggling very quickly, and he spent bells with his father, training his flexibility and speed for acrobatics. When he first shifted into his human form, and grew legs, he found he loved them, and the unique freedom that came with the ability to jump. The way of the Dhani too, came naturally. His mother had come by her position by arranging an “accident” for the former ringleader, and his older sisters were the families “rat catcher”, dealing with their unwanted guests. Kass made his first human kill at the age of 57. One young man, enthralled with the traveling performers, begged them to take him with them. After some deliberation, they agreed, bringing him, far, far from the town, out into the woods. Far enough that no one could hear him scream. Kass devoured him whole, his first human meal. There were others after that, but none really compared with his first, with his family watching and laughing in approval. Still, all good things must end. His parents were insistent that their children leave to find their own path. His siblings had each taken their leave once they had mastered their human forms, and finally, he did too. As with all his siblings, he left with a parting gift: their favorite toy. For Kass, it was the pouch of colorful sashes that he had first learned to juggle with. He left his family, but not the life of a performer. He made his way around Taldera, finally finding his way down to Kalea, and settling down in Alvadas. |
