Today was market day for Wind Reach and everyone was here buying goods for the next two weeks. Iosha just another consumer decided this was the day, she would actually going to try dressing like a Inartan. Making her way through the crowd, she hears merchants of all types barking their wears to whoever passing by. Iosha seen stands of all types glass makers, weapon smiths, food merchants, and clothing tents. She doesn't see any foreign shops though. Iosha figured this time of year, foreign merchants wouldn't risk there merchandise coming to a out of the way settlement like Wind Reach in the winter. She saw a glass merchant waving to her to come over to him. She stopped in the middle of the crowd and turned to face the merchant. By the look of him, he was a middle aged human with red hair that was starting to turn white. She walked over with a smile on her face, and said to the man in common, “What are you selling Sir?” She looks around and sees a assortment of glass jewelry and assortment ornaments on the shelves and on the table. She picks up a glass beaded necklace and stares at the design in the middle of bead. The merchant gently takes the necklace away from her and shakes his head, no. He sticks up his finger for a moment to get her attention and says in crude common with a smile, “Pretty..girl like you. Won't look perfect in necklace. One second till I..err locate right one for you, Pretty Lady.”
Iosha watched the merchant bent down behind the bar and pulled out a wooden case. He opened the lid of the case and pulled out a glass beads necklace with violet designs in the glass beads, but towards the center is a large glass bead with a design of a violet eagle in the center of the bead. It was a magnificent piece of art, and if she doesn't buy it now. She knew it would be sold in the matter of hours. The merchant smiles at her and says in crude common, “I see you like very much. The color matches eyes. Please buy. You won't regret.” Iosha looked at the amount of pinions it will cost and her eyes widen in shock. She knew she will regret it later. She pulled out her money pouch and gave him the amount need to buy the necklace. The merchant took the money and put it into coffer. He grabbed a nice wooden case from under the table. The merchant smiled at her and tapped the case, “You bought necklace made for Endal. You must protect pretty necklace with sturdy, strong, pretty box. Since you are so pretty, I give to you...for fifteen pinions.”
Iosha just stared at him. She just bought a expensive necklace made for a Endal, and he wanted me to buy a jewelry box too! She frowned at the price of the wooden box and said to him with a smile, “I'll give you ten..” She stuck up both of her hands indicating ten if he didn't understand. The merchant shook his head, no. He smiled, taps the box again, and haggles again, “I give to you for thirteen pinion, but no less.” Iosha looked at the box and noticed the rosewood is delicately designed and stained. It is big enough to hold a decent amount of jewelry. It is worth the fifteen pinions, but Iosha needed to make her money last the season. Iosha stuck out her hand and said softy with a half grin, “I will give you twelve pinion for the box. If you say no, I will take my jewelry and walk away.” The middle aged merchant laughed, took her hand, and said, “Deal.. pretty lady. You want wear it, or should I put in case?” Iosha pays him the money for the box, and he wrapped it in a cloth and tied it up for her. Iosha took the box from him, smiled at him, and said softly, “Well says I paid a fortune for it. I might as well wear it.” He handed her the necklace, and she puts it around her neck. The merchant saw another customer walking over, and he said to her, “Come again pretty lady.”
Holding the box in her left hand, she bit her lip as she started to get buyers remorse from the last purchase. She was now looking for a merchant that sold clothing. She walked up to the tent and she saw racks of shirts Inarta woman commonly wear. She was sure the name of the shirt, but she figured money is the best translator in these situations. She grabbed a plain Inarta shirt and pair of black flowing pants. She walked over to merchant standing behind the table. He glanced at her for a moment and took the money from another Inarta woman. Iosha noticed the merchant and walked up to him, and said in common, “Excuse me Master merchant. I need some help. I need these pants in the color violet if you do can I have one in silk?” She held up the pants hoping they could help him understand she wanted and needed from him. The merchant gave her a annoyed glare and said nothing to her. He turned his back on her and helped another customer. She frowned to herself realizing he is blatantly ignored her. She was about to cause a scene, but she saw a young man step besides her and she heard him say bryda. Still holding the merchandise, Iosha saw a handsome teenager standing next to her. He asked if she was having any trouble with the merchant. Iosha frowned and shot a angry look at the merchant than back to the young man. She blew a piece of hair from her face and said to him with a hint of annoyance in her voice, “Yes, I think he is blatantly ignoring me. I don't understand why since I have the money to pay him.”
