Merchants Ring

The last couple of days, Buni has spended in Yae Varone's cafe, drinking tea and fighting with her own thoughts. She was tired from this... too tired to continue, so she decided to go on a walk, to breathe some fresh air and maybe to buy herself a new book. She had realised how much her life has changed since she came to Ravok, but she liked the city... kinda... and just, couldn't leave.

She walked slowly trough the Merchants Ring, looking around. It was surprisingly calm. Usually places like this are constantly crowded, but today, for incomprehensible to Buni reason, there were only a few slavers, walking with lowered heads and eyes pinned to the ground. Maybe it was like that because it was so early in the morning, she thought. The girl frowned lightly but continued walking, spinning the gentle, silver locket, wrapped around he thin wrist. Her big eyes were searching for a bookshop, not even sure if such thing existed in Ravok. Buni was anxious and very distracted, due to her migraine.. She knew she was over thinking things. She knew she was worrying too much, but she couldn't stop. Her mind was constantly working and bringing flashbacks of terrible moments that the girl couldn't seem to remember and that were freezing the blood in her veins in fear. She bit onto her cherry-red lip and sighed softly, trying to empty her mind, concentrating on the smell of fresh fruits, water and dirt, spreading in the air.

As the day progressed, the Merchants ring was filling with more and more people. It became to loud and too crowded for the girl and she started carefully moving trough the people, wanting to get away from them as fast as possible, when someone grabbed her wrist.

"Hey...L-let me go!" - her soft, quiet voice shivered as she tried to pull her hand away from the guy who caught her. She turned to see who catched her and her eyes met someones familiar, soft green eyes. They belonged to a guy... Slender young man with alabaster skin and dark, messy hair. Buni tried to remember where she knows him from, but like always, her memories turned into big mess, causing the pain in her head to grow.

"Please, let me go..." - Buni never liked violence and most of the time tried to get away with talking, but this time... it wasn't happening the way she hoped to.

"Why so, dear? Don't you want to get a new job? You know, i thnk that a collar in blue would look amazing on this long neck." -The guy smirked and ran fingers trough her neck and moved them trough her (now knee long) red, curly hair. She was frightened and trying to pull away from him, she screamed for help. She had seen this scene so many times in her mind... Nobody turned to her to help her, people were just calmly walking by, like they didn't care... And in that moment she realised... No body actually cared...

"You're a trouble, aren't you? " - He sighed, laying fingers over her lips...

"You're a trouble, aren't you" [Amelia]

Postby Amelia Cross on December 18th, 2012, 10:53 pm

Syna’s shine bursting through the clouds like blades of light, illuminating every inch of the city. It gave the perfect chance for the canal maze of Ravok, to reflect every ray of light and the city seemed to fill with magic. Amelia was sitting on a bench, looking around with a sleepy, yet happy gaze. She allowed herself to be lazy for once and just allow the sunshine warm her cool skin. She was always amazed how pleasant a winter in Ravok could be, the time in Syliras at winter was probably the thing she hatted most in her life. For sure, that was also why she chose to spend the winter in Rhysol’s Ravok. ”I could just stay like this forever…and ever…an eternity” she muttered to herself, eyes closed, there wasn’t a worry in the world for her now. Even her job and family seemed irrelevant.

”That’s it…I’ll spend the day on myself!” she cheered in her head. Amelia was sure she deserved to spend a day drinking sweet tea, eating some expensive sweets and buying herself a thing or two. It would never hurt and if she was in places money was turning, it was likely to find someone who is full of it and curios of their fate. At worst, she will find someone to spend the evening with. Her mind set, she pulled herself off the bench and began a slow walk towards the merchants ring. Her eyes wondering around the ‘shops’ that sold everything from furs, fruits to things she didn’t even know the name of. All of It forced a smile on her lips to grow.

Walking around aimlessly for two bells, she spotted two men, of respectful age. For Amelia they were possible customers and she didn’t hesitate to walk up to them even if she wanted to rest for the day. In this city, a man of age and so finely dressed meant they had loads of mizas to spare for a poor girl like her. However, her mind changed when she recognized one of the men. She didn’t actually know him, but she remembered him once being at her father’s home. This meant they were possible friends. One thing Amelia didn’t want was fortune telling her father’s friends, she wasn’t ashamed to be a fortune teller, but her father was ashamed of Amelia.

She was about to turn around, when she spotted one of them holding a book in his hand. One thing Amelia enjoyed was reading, probably because for her it was a way of gaining bout respect and knowledge. After all, reading was one of the skills that not all possessed. She was even more intrigued, since she hadn’t really seen any bookstores around the city for the years she had been here. So she couldn’t miss out on a chance to buy a book. ”Miss?” came the voice of one of the men but Amelia pretended to not hear as she began walking in the direction these men walked from. She was happy they didn’t recognize her.

She walked around for some time, trying to find the place they could have bought the book in. However, she had little to no luck. Amelia went as far as pulling out her deck of tarot, she muttered a question ”what awaits me?” and pulled out a card. The card was the High priestess, the card of knowledge and power. She smiled and put the card back in the deck and the deck back inside her purse. In a flowing, easy step she continued to wonder through.

She was walking past a shop that seemed to sell jewelry, she looked at the beautiful rings the men sold and she was fully engaged by the words he spoke of it being the best. Amelia wasn’t that dumb but she had a good guess that it was still one of the most decent things she could get at the price he offered. None the less, she was completely distracted in one short instant. She looked over at a woman who seemed to be bothered by a quite aggressive man. In Syliras, it would have been ended before it started, here, nobody cared. Mind drifting over to the two, she was once more staring at them and studying the language their body had. It was clear the woman wasn’t pleased, but it was quite hard to see what the man wanted.

"You're a trouble, aren't you" [Amelia]

Postby Bunielle Birdy on December 21st, 2012, 8:28 pm

For someone, who steps for first time in the city, Ravok would be like gotten out right from a fairytale, shining, full of people. Especially the merchants ring with all the people selling shiny things, fruits, clothes and every other thing you could think of, bu for someone like Buni, it was dark place full of danger... Or maybe she was thinking like that because she was constantly getting into trouble. Maybe it was really, really nice city, just she wasn't able to see it, as she was wrapped in the mirk of the fear.

The guy's strong hands with thin long fingers, wrapped tightly around her waist had strange impact on the girl. She was scared... frightened to death if you want but something in his voice... in his tone was bringing warm memories. She tried to get away from his hands, but when he pressed her fragile, skinny body against his and whispered in her ear "Hush Ella... don't be a bad girl!" she remembered. He slowly moved his fingers off her red lips, letting her whisper softly "A-aaron?" He laughed and let go of her, dropping a pale blue chocker necklace on the dirty ground, saying with amusement "Yours truly" Buni's pale eyes slid over him and a soft smile appeared on her lips as his eyes stared somewhere behind her in a familiar manner. Her thoughs, before a moment drowning in fear, were now drifting away to the, still blurry memories appearing in her mind. When Buni was a child and hated by her family, Aaron was the only one who actually cared for her. She remembered the days spend with him and all the stolen hugs and little kisses right before her parents getting home from work, lock her in her bedroom. She remembered all the times he took care of her wounds and calmed her down in his hug after her parents were beating her...

As Buni was lost in her thoughs as usually, Aarons sigh was pinned on a girl across the street, staring at them two. His eyes narrowed slightly and he touched Buni's hand like he wanted to make sure she is still there infront of him. That brough Buni out of her thoughs and she shook head lightly. Her eyes intuitively looked at the direction Aaron was looking and her pale eyes locked on the girl. She looked interesting... And concentrated... on them two... Buni realised that in the last minute, the three of them were staring at eacother trough the street, not moving eyes off one anothers.

"You're a trouble, aren't you" [Amelia]

Postby Amelia Cross on December 22nd, 2012, 9:03 pm

Amelia seemed to be ignoring the merchant who she was talking to, the one who wished to sell her some type of silver jewelry. Usually Amelia loved silver and would have been glued to what he had to offer, but now she had even trouble remembering what she exactly wished to buy, or did she wish to buy anything at all. She was mesmerized by the event she was following so closely with her eyes. She could see the man as holding the redhead roughly, it didn’t look like he was hurting her, but it was clear to Amelia she wasn’t found of being held like that.

Much to Amelia’s surprise, he let the girl go just when she assumed the encounter would become interesting to see, to learn from. She was close to frowning, but she wouldn’t let that emotion show on her face. Instead she toke a few steps closer, she could hear the voices and intonations in them, cut couldn’t really tell apart the words well. By the joy that came from the fragile, yet pleasant voice of the woman she guessed she was even glad now. For a moment she guessed they could be relatives and the man played a prank on her, but it didn’t seem to be the case, or she could be mistaking once more. Somehow, being wrong has become a habit of Amelia’s.

Still staring at the two, rude – yes, but she didn’t care of that when she was learning so she was off in a world of examining their bodies, the small twitches on their faces. She was so far drifted in that world that she didn’t notice that the man had begun to look back at her, soon followed by the redhead. For a moment she felt a bit uncomfortable, but generally Amelia enjoyed being looked at, none the less by attractive men. However, coming up and explaining her actions wouldn’t exactly be the best thing, so she did the best she could think of in her mind, a curtsy while looking into the eyes of the two. It wasn’t deep, but it was polite and she quickly straightened her position to tall and proud.

Buni wasn't completely sure what was happening. It was happening for first time since she arrived in Ravok, for someone to stare at her like that. It felt like the girl across the street was looking right trough her. She was almost mesmerized by the girls eyes, when she felt Aarons hands wrap around her waist. The warmness of his skin calmed her and she got the chance to study the her better. She looked... well pretty much amazing with her red lipstick and pretty pale skin. She standed out in the crowd but not in the way Buni did, the woman standed out with beauty, elegance and ostensibly high class, when Buni standed out with her weirdly pale eyes, bright red hair and fragile structure. Buni whispered softly to Aaron, afraid that the woman could hear her.

"Who is she?... She's beautiful... " - She appreciated beauty when seeing it. The girl moved eyes the the standing boy behind her and her fingers entwined with his on her hips.

"I do not know her... Yes... i guess she is." - And as he said this, the woman infront of them made a curtsy, surprising him. Buni turned arownd just to see her straighten back up after the curtsy. The amazed girl bowed lightly but the boy behind her stood straight, holding the redhead tightly, like he was afraid that she would run away. The two of them made interesting vew for the woman across the street and for the passing people. The girl... so small and fragile with her white skin and knee long bright-red curls and the boy, dressed all in black and with serious eyes, wrapping his hands around her like he was saving some sort of treasure... They were like pieces of a puzzle but something still missed...

So they have spent a good amount of time blankly staring at each other. Amelia wasn’t sure what to do when neither of them reacted to her gesture. She wasn’t used to approaching the ones she was examining or at least, approach first. If they had come up she’d be more than willing to join them in a conversation, a stroll across the city or pretty much anything that didn’t involve trouble. But approaching first, when she had no clue what those things were. That was a pain, and for a moment she continued looking at them, faking the language of being nervous. She began shooting her eyes back and forth from the woman to the man, tangling her fingers with one and other. Pure signs of being nervous; if they thought Amelia was like that she’d have a better excuse to be awkward when approaching them.

However her manner of looking them wasn’t a pure act, she was trying to pick up significant things about them. In Amelia’s head, the girl looked much like an Inarta, her wild, long red locks seemed to be a clear sign of it. The man, the man was harder to look over, but she assumed bout of them were humans and there was nothing wrong about it. For some bizarre reasons, in Ravok she avoided approaching any other race but humans, as she knew her father wouldn’t approve.

After a good amount of time, she had finally looked for what seemed very little detail in the couple and finally approached them. She wasn’t a skilled enough actress to disguise her natural manner of walking that was proud and flowing, her head wasn’t lowered even now as her shin was lifted up the slightest bit above the horizon. ”I…I’m sorry for being this rude to stare….it’s just that…when he attacked you” Amelia said with a slight shaking in her voice and stuttering, trying to act as embarrassed about it as she could ”I wanted to get help..b~but when you let go…I…was confused”
