Is this the right time? I thought I'd start off with my "hello guys I'm new here" post, but I'm afraid my timings are pestering with me as I stumbled myself in the middle of people waving goodbyes. ;__;

I just like to extend my warm greetings to the people of Avanthal ...Hello there! my PC's name is Val'guanis(see my CS to know more about him), a lone Kelvic from the Northern reaches setting his feet on the city's premises in a hope to find what he's been looking for (if he ever has one). Actually I'll begin with an introduction thread before I enter the Icewall gates (if that's how I should start things up) but I'm also new to the site and I'm open to any suggestion you guys have to offer. Also, I badly need your guide because I have no Idea what I'll do next after I enter the city gates.

Welcome Val! (I hope you don't mind) I'm Jesslyn your friendly local blind painter! It's great to see you've chosen Avanthal as your home city and I'm excited for you to be here! So there is a verity of places you could go after you enter the city! If you go here you can find a tun of information on the city. That's a great place to start looking. You can also do what I do and thats go here and see who's all there and is active. If you find something you like, hit the person up in a private message to see what the two of your (or more) could do in a thread. You can also simply do a solo thread where you revolve around your character. Or be suspenseful and open up an OPEN thread that allows another character to pop in. If you have any questions just hit up one of the veterans or Noblesse. I'm sure we all could give you some tips and point you in the right direction!

After you post at the Icewall gates, you should post at the Character registry as well. And if you don't feel like making an open thread yourself, you can go and jump in one instead! Hey everyone, I've made a character Pyren Frostfawn here and was just wondering about some ideas for a flashback:

I want to make something about Pyren's father's bow (his heirloom) and want to make it interesting some kind of story or character development thread with him and his father. Maybe the first time his father taught him how to use the bow but I feel this would be uninteresting to read. Any thoughts? Thank you in advance!!!

You were asking about ideas for a flashback with your bow and etc. and I thought of a couple ideas you might like:

1) You could tell the tale of a hunt your father did with the bow and how it killed some great beast, of course it could be very accurate or even myth-like. Though this wont earn you any XP it could be a great back story for the bow.

2)You could do the first time you went hunting with it but I think this is rather cliche and overdone maybe instead you were young and stole the bow to go hunting and killed like a small rabbit or something amusing like that :3 your dad finds you with a hare the size of your small palm and you grinning like you had just killed this massive bear and then gives it to you when you become a man and tells you the story. Cute, humourous and creates a great relationship with your father.

3)You could do a series of little mini stories about the trials and tribulations of the bow, following it on it's journey from creation to your hands from the bows point of view. A little weird but it would show the importance and antique...ness? of the bow and all its been through and how in a way your character is actually just a portion of ITS life. anyway, this one is a little more out there but I think it's a nifty quirky idea so if you wanna use any of these have atta.

Just so you know in the Fauna of Wind Reach the long snouted seal (which is adorable! :3) is mentioned to be very common up to Avanthal so you might want to add it to our Fauna list.

Luctor et Emergo (a.k.a Lemergo) Fauna Frequency: Extremely rare, almost mythical in its existence. Major Features: Entirely covered in fur their young look like walruses from a distance. They have webbed front paws with claws and when grown are the size of large whales. Abilities: Their roars are said to power the storms that sweep across the ocean, sinking ships in their fury. Their roars escalate most loudly during their mating season as this is the only time the shrill lionesses raise their own voices in harmony raising the winds. In actuality, they are massive creatures rivaling the size of giant whales and as such breed infrequently and have long lifespans, the few seen on shore appearing like walruses are their young when they are first born but of each ~100 born each year one or two will hunt out the others and slaughter them. There is only so much food in the sea for such large and ravenous creatures. Like most sea creatures they are docile when full. Summary/Abstract: While they have only been seen from a distance, and only long ago there are many ballads and poems to their greatness and their effect on the Sea as well as their legendary appetite. Large teeth from orca’s are sometimes sold as teeth from the Lemergo though there have been no proven cases of a death. They eat mainly large catches; Orca’s, whales, walruses (for a snack) and besides ships or threatening creatures are likely to leave other things alone. History: Though females theoretically exist none has ever been seen, their history is mainly told in stories but in reality BV there were a great many in the North. Appearance: An anatomically correct lions’ body up to the paws complete with fur, which is either gold, white, or black. His nose and ears are absent and are instead gills. They live North of Avanthal and when spotted by their icy neighbours at a distance on the southern mating grounds (still north of Avanthal) they are undistinguishable from walruses and disappear before anyone can get close.

So to everyone I planned on threading with or am threading with I will not be active for this week or two (ill pop on but not that often) as Tomorrow is District's Finals, Sunday I have training, then Mon-Wed is training then thrus-sat is State.
