[Avanthal OOC] Gaze at the Aurora

Welcome to Avanthal! The purpose of this board is to chat and get to know each other. You can also exchange ideas and ask questions you would like Avanthal STs or PCs to answer. Often this is where you can find ST updates so it is recommended that you subscribe to this thread.

Avanthal is a dynamic and chilly city that is perpetually locked in winter. The city is run by the benevolent goddess of winter, Morwen. The city is known for its beautiful icestone architecture, a guard made up of dire polar bears and their bond mates, and of course the lovely Vantha who have a flare for the dramatic. Welcome, welcome, we are glad to have you join us in the chilly city. Wrap yourself in some fur, have a cup of hot cider, and see what stories unfold in the Everwinter City.

Hello everyone!

I decided to make a new OOC thread since the last one was getting sooooo long so enjoy a brand new thread! If for any reason you need information that was posted in the old thread you can find it here.

Also, I have added all new prompts to the Grading and Moderation Request thread so if you are interested go ahead and check them out. The prompts are all about the events going on this winter which made it necessary to be more strict about their timestamps. If you are interested in a prompt but the timestamp doesn't work out for you just PM me and we can discuss it.

Lastly, with the rash of crime happening in the city there are lots of opportunities for fun and dynamic threads! If you are interested in perpetrating, being the victim of, or just witnessing a crime that isn't listed on the Calendar of Events, just send me a PM with your idea and we can work out a plan to make that happen.

that would be the northern lights the Skyglows always have above them.

Well everyone in the city and even that region generally has the aurora above them. The Skyglows take a lot of artistic inspiration from the aurora but I would say that all Vantha have a connection to it as it plays an important role in many of their culture's stories. I love looking at pictures of it, it's so purdy.

Hey everybody!

December was a really hard month for me but I'm getting back into the swing of things! I should pretty much be caught up except for a post for Alea and writing up the prompts for those who claimed them. If there is something we talked about that you need and you aren't one of the exceptions I just listed you should send me a PM and remind me of what you need as it may have slipped my mind. I also hope to update the Calendar of Events this week to reflect Winter 30 - 60 but I will post here to let you know when I have done so, so don't worry about checking for it.

Just a quick notice that I'm probably on a hiatus for about 4 or so more weeks

finally got all the dates of my exams crammed into my head. I will try to get my backlogg worked on during the weekends and such though so you guy's won't be waiting to long.

Hello Avanthal!

Events for Winter 31 – 60 has been added to the Calendar of Events and I have also added in a whole new round of prompts to go along with it. You can always feel free to use the events in your writing by the way, you don’t just have to wait to claim a prompt. I just like to use prompts as an extra way to get you guys involved in city events.

In this new group of events, there has been a string of murders. Everyone in the city is very shocked and saddened by the news. Two well-loved Hold leaders and a talented artist have been killed. A third Hold leader is implicated in the crimes. There is a lot of turmoil in the city at the moment but stick with me, it can’t last forever!

If you have any questions about the recent events feel free to ask here in the OOC thread or shoot me a PM.
