Cin-cin was so radiant with smiles, a true pleasure to be around and all those little quirks of her's simply added to that pleasure, he concluded. And as she reached out her hand, Valo gladly took it and for a moment they swung that little hand shake backwards and forwards with grins illuminating both of their faces. A childish pleasure in the contact with another, the establishment of a new friendship and the anticipation for great adventures to come. For the prospect great adventures with one's friend was perhaps much more wonderful than the entire prospect of great adventure. Events they stood now, face to face, submerged in the turquoise depths of pleasant conversation, it seemed quite an adventure in all it's entirety. However alas her features fell somewhat and assembled into a throws. And truth it was, the boy preferred her smiling, for that smile of her's was fundamentally beautiful. "Why do you want to leave? What do you want to do... out there?" she questioned. But the frown didn't sway him. Nothing swayed him, whether it were the tears of his sisters or the jeering of the other boys; he was set in his mind so firmly that he might as well have been a tree rooted into the ground. Unmovable, relishing in it's determination and stubbornness. "It's not for another few years." he smiled taking both her hands in a gesture that clearly communicated his wish to comfort her. His voice was softer too, a gentle sprinkle of tenderness to it. "But there are things I wish to do and those I wish to see and Wind Reach does not possess that which my heart yearns for." He gently let go of her hands and with a face ever more radiant and a devilish twinkle in his dark green eyes he spoke. "There is a city of Zeltiva out there with a great University to stand for and a library much greater than out Enclave. And a city of Lhavit, built in it's entirety out of sky glass. And the capital of Syliras which is one great castle, guarded by noble Knights. My wish is to see it all. To touch the snows of Avanthal and to see the horses of Endrykas. There's so much out there, but we have cooped our selves in this city our ours which seems sometimes more like a cage than a home." Valo was a child still and he was not quite aware of the implications upon his own heart this would have in the future. He didn't fathom that a yearning for his home would grow the very moment he steps his foot from the loving structure of his city. And he'd cherish the memories, but deep inside wish that he was a child again. He didn't understand, couldn't understand how he'd miss it all once it was gone. Once his city was a million miles away. |
