Collision in the street [Silver_Frostfawn]

9th of winter

Coren was slowly walking through the streets of avanthal. His research and practicing in animation had been going horribly these last days. His mood as a result was close to the boiling point and the glares he shot at the people who stared at him for a bit to long where so cold they could have caused frostbite in people even with morwen's blessing.
Coren tried to shut out the annoyance at those people. It just kept agitating him even more, causing his mood to worsen even faster.

He quickened his pace a little hoping to get to the peace and quiet of the secluded spots of the park all the quicker. One of his usual walks there had to help at least a bit to calm down his temper. Maybe after wards he could see if Sliver was off duty and have a talk with her or something. It had been a while he had seen the kelvic lately. As he drifted of into his musings of what he was going to and where Sliver could be hanging out these times of the day. He didn't pay much attention to where exactly he was going, letting instinct and rote take him along the path he had walked so many times that he could do it blindfolded.

Collision in the street [Silver_Frostfawn]

Postby Silver Frostfawn on December 29th, 2012, 7:37 pm

It had been a rather drab day at Frostfawn hold, Silver's mother and father had gotten into a fight over something they refused to tell her about. Just yesterday there had been a pile of dead dogs placed on the front steps of Frostfawn hold, and all of her friends were off in the woods somewhere, and she didn't have the inclination, nor the patience to go find them. So instead, she decided to go into Avanthal and take a look around. Maybe something special was going on in city today.

Turns out she had no such luck. Silver sighed, and just kept walking, thinking of places she could go to pass the time. Maybe she could go down to Snow Stained Bows, and check out all the new archery equipment they had. Her bow was starting to get warped anyway. And so it was decided.

Silver watched her toes as she was walking, listening to the satisfying crunch of the snow underground. It took her a good fifteen minutes before she realized she was walking in the wrong direction. When she figured it out, Silver abruptly turned around, and straight into another man.

"Oh my goodness I am so sorry, sir!" Silver shouted, her eyes turning a bright yellow of embarrassment. She took a few steps back, and looked at the man she ran in to. He seemed to be covered from head to toe in black robes, with pale skin only showing at his hands and the bottom half of his face. Her eyes instantly turned from the yellow of embarrassment to the orange of fear.

"I, I didn't mean anything, s-sir" Silver struggled to get out, she brushed a stray strand of hair behind her ear, and stepped out of the way of the man, before attempting to get by him without any further conversation.

If Silver would look closer, she would notice that what she thought was uncovered skin wasn't skin at all. Just a light leather facemask covering the lower side of his face that had frosted over slightly in the cold, like the rest of his clothing. He would have believed her 'honest' apology if the situation was different. But he wasn't only in a bad mood because of his regular verbal abuse from the citizens of avanthal. But nearly close to blowing up thanks to his added misfortune with his magical projects. Adding to that where the recent string of burglaries and the rise in pickpockets and wasn't willing to give her the benefit of the doubt nor was he friendly enough to think that it was just an accident.

As the girl tried to pass him, corens and shot out and he grabbed the girls upper arm with a suprisingly strong grip. “Where in morwen's name do you think you are going child.” He stated in an icy tone as he looked down at her. His eyes a cold and bright yellow. He slowly began to pat down his robe, checking if she hadn't stole any of his hard won mizas out of his pocket. At first glance there didn't seem to be missing anything. But who could be sure that he didn't manage to grab her before she managed to get her fingers in his pockets. Who could be sure she didn't already steal from another person. If coren hadn't beenin as bad a mood as he was now. He probably would have let her go after he had checked himself and gave her a stern lecture about how she needed to watch out or she might get hurt. But it seemed he was just a bit spiteful today.

He pulled on his djed and let it stream towards his head, letting the world of aura's jump into his view. He kept his yellow eyed gaze firmly on the girl. He could see the vibrant aura swirling around the girl, a bitter taste coming to his mouth as he could practically taste small amounts of fear rolling of her.
“I highly doubt you did not mean anything. Though I honestly don't care if you meant something by bumping into me.” Coren said in his calm and icy tone. “Have you taken anything of me or anybody else by accidentally bumping into him or her.” It wasn't worded as a question, more as a command. “And don't dare to lie. Or you will regret it.”

Her first step was a success, but as Silver took her second step past the strange hooded man, his arm flew out to stop her. Silver's heart stopped. Her eyes went wide, and changed to the bright yellow of fear. The mans voice was a kind of cold that made even a Vantha shiver.

"I was just, I was heading to, to the archery shop, s-sir" Silver attempted to keep her voice steady as the robed man accused her of thievery. As he went on, Silvers eyes began to search for somewhere to run, or someone to call for help. Of course she wouldn't steal anything from this man. Especially someone who frightened her so.

Once again, Silver noticed the icy tone in his voice. She tried to recall having come in to contact with someone so angry and stern before, but came up empty. She absent-mindedly grasped at her leggings and wiped the sweat off her palms.
"I swear on Morwens name sir, I-I'm not the type, not the type of person who could do that even if she wanted to.

Silvers eyes shifted towards the ground. She suddenly became more aware of the lack of people on the streets. It wasn't that late at night, why wasn't anyone around? She would give anything for her mother or father to show up and prove to this cloaked figure that she was just a girl of sixteen, with no bad intentions. She couldn't figure out a way to do it herself.

Coren, could see the fear in her aura. And the bitter taste in his mouth didn't leave either, seemed like auristic information didn't only get interpreted through the eyes. He listened to her excuses and kept a close watch on her aura, letting out an irritated grunt as he didn't see anything else then fear in her aura. Her fear overwhelmed all the rest of the emotions he could be seeing. At least at his skill with the discipline. A pity, that quickly blocked the easy way for him to figure out if she was lying through her teeth or telling the truth. It was times like these he had hoped auristics really was reading the mind of others. It would be a lot easier if he could see if she was afraid of him and answering his questions truthfully. Or if she was just afraid of getting caught and trying to lie herself out of it. Oh well, he would just rattle her a little bit more till she broke down. Usually people where a lot more compliant when in that stage.

“I would find it a lot more convincing if you actually dared to look at me while you where talking, instead of gazing around like you actually have something to hide.” Coren bluntly stated.

“Let me sketch the situation a little bit here girl.” Coren stated in his icy tone. “There has been a string of break in's and other criminal situations lately. Not only do you bump into me in a nearly deserted street late in the day. Which would make me look like a decent mark in a thief's eyes.” Coren calmly droned on in that cutting voice of his as he stared straight at the girl in front of him, his eyes a cool yellow. “You will have to come with something more compelling then a simple I'm not the type excuse to make me decide to let you go.”

Collision in the street [Silver_Frostfawn]

Postby Silver Frostfawn on January 1st, 2013, 6:55 pm

Silver looked up to face the mysterious man in the eyes. She was beginning to become more annoyed then actually scared. So far he had posed no threat to her, other then refusing to let her walk away. And being accused of doing something she did not always tended to get on Silver's nerves, whether it be her mother and father, her friends, or in this case, a stranger.

Her hands slipped under her coat, and she pulled it off, shaking it roughly above the ground.
"I have nothing on me, other then a few silver Mizas in my left pocket." Silver threw the coat back on, and stuffed her hands into her pocket to retrieve the currency. It was a bold move, something that Silver wouldn't have normally done. However the stress of this particular situation as well as the stress at home seemed to have put her on edge.

Silver eyes slowly moved from the mans face down to his robes. They covered nearly his entire body, and from the looks of it, could hold plenty of stolen items. Curiosity began to seep into Silvers veins. Of course she would never voice such an accusation, not against someone who was so much taller, and obviously stronger then herself. Maybe with more people around, or with the comfort of a friend, but not here.

It almost seemed likely, now that Silver had begun to think about it. She could feel the mark of Morwen on him, but then, why would he need to cover himself up? He couldn't be cold, So either this man was a thief, or he thought that those robes he was covering himself in were fashionable. Silver very highly doubted the latter option.

After a few moments, Silver realized the danger she could have put herself in. If this man was a thief, and he had broken into one of the shops around, or even worse, could have been in on the killings of the dogs that had been thrown on Frostfawns steps, then he would not just let her go. Silvers eyes faded from the deep blue of curiosity back to the orange of fear. She had to get away.

Without a seconds hesitation, Silver turned on her heel and sprinted in the direction of the city gates. The icewatch guard would surely help her out if they saw a small Vantha being chased by a hooded figure. After a few moments, her lungs ached, but she wouldn't stop. Dodging into a back alley, Silver turned around to see if she had been followed, pausing only momentarily to catch her breath.
